Buhari: Osibajo emerges running mate, Amaechi campaign manager.

A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Yemi Osibajo, has emerged as the running mate of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari.
Indications to this effect emergedon Wednesdaymorning as Nigerians and the world awaited Buhari to make the formal announcement.
But there were also indications that Buhari may not address the press as announcedon Tuesdayby the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
As at the time of filing this report, the national headquarters of the party in Abuja has become filled to capacity in anticipation of the announcement.
A source however told The Eagle Online that it is likely the choice of Osibajo would be made public via a press statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
Buhari was yet to be seen at the
Osibajo is a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
He pastors the Olive Parish located on Banana Island, Lagos State.
His choice was said to have been to counter the negative impression of Buhari being an Islamic fundamentalist.
Feelers also reaching The Eagle Online has it that the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, may be named the Director General of the campaign organisation for the 2015 general election.
A former Commissioner for Information in Lagos State, Dele Alake, will likely coordinate the media and publicity for the 2015 elections for the APC

Good morning dear "When everything goes wrong" Your scars are symbols of your strength. Don't ever be ashamed of the scars life has left you with. A scar means the hurt is over and the wound is closed. It means you conquered the pain, learned a lesson, grew stronger, and moved forward. A scar is the tattoo of a triumph to be proud of. Don't allow your scars to hold you hostage. Don't allow them to make you live your life in fear. Every little struggle is a step forward. :-INSFM. Happy Sunday

When I was so small

When I was small =D

• I'd put my arms in my shirt and told people I lost my arms

• Would restart the video game whenever I knew I was going to lose

• Had that one pen with four colors, and tried to push all the buttons at once

• Waited behind a door to scare someone, then leaving because they're taking too long to come out.

• Faked being asleep,so I could be carried to bed.

• Used to think that the moon followed our car

• Tried to balance the switch between On/Off

• Watching two drops of rain roll down window and pretending it was a race

• The only thing i had to take care of was a school bag.

• Swallowed a fruit seed I was scared to death that a tree was going to grow in my tummy.

• Closed the fridge extremely slowly to see when the lights went off.

• Walked into a room,. forgot what you needed, Walked out, and then remember.

• Played suwe in different places with different people.

• Made friends with people so that I would be given an opportunity to play with their toys or game.

• Arranged my feet for different types of games, e.g actor and boss...

• After playing, while I'm sleeping, I'd dream I was in a toilet...you know. ;)

• Shot several types of guns with my imaginary items and faked several types of faints or death.

• Had my imaginary steering for driving different vehicles.

Remember when we were kids and couldn't wait to grow up? Now, we think why did we even grow up?

Childhood Was The Best Part Of our Life.

I know u have a smile on your face while reading the msg....if u can, someone wld also love to hav such memories; share the joyful memories...good night loved ones!

Lagos begins distribution of resident cards

The Lagos State Government yesterday began the
distribution of the Lagos resident cards to residents
of the state who had been registered in the ongoing
registration, which the government says is to aid
planning, budgeting and determination of the
number of persons that are to be provided for.
With the commencement of the distribution of the
permanent cards, the government said residents,
who had been registered and issued the temporary
cards could pick up their cards from the nearest
registration point to them.
Fashola, who spoke at the unveiling of the Lagos
State Resident cards, lamented the low turnout of
residents even as he hinted of a possible closure
of the registration exercise, "some time in June
2015," saying it was costing the state government
a lot of money, paying staff engaged for the
project.
The exercise, which began last year, has not
recorded impressive response from the residents as
less than 3 million of the estimated 20 million
population have so far been registered.
The governor, who described the exercise as the
way of the future with lots of benefits including the
creation of reliable database, urged all residents
yet to register to do so in their interest.
"We have taken a big step into the future. This is
not about today but about tomorrow. I get
embarrassed when figures are read out that in
Nigeria we are 140, sometimes 160, sometimes
170 million depending on who is speaking. I usually
question how they arrived at those figures. Truth is
that if you don't know how many you are, you
cannot plan for them. This is about knowing
exactly how many people live in Lagos so that we
can adequately plan for them," said the governor.
He said because the registration exercise was
providing a database for every resident of the state,
it would help a great deal in tracking criminals
because of the availability of the bio-data/
identities, saying this was where the developed
economies had advantage when it came to
tracking crimes and criminals. "This is possible in
Lagos if the people change their mindset," said
Fashola.
Earlier, the General Manager of Lagos State
Residents' Registration Agency (LASRRA), Olayinka
fashola , who reemphasised the importance of
accurate data for planning purposes, said the
registration was for all residents of Lagos who had
lived six months and above in the state.
She said to make the exercise simpler and less
stressful, the agency had also created an online
platform www.lagosresidents.gov.ng where
residents could register online before taking the
print-out to their nearest registration centres in the
state.

10 years ago today, Jaiye Aboderin father of the two kids of actress Stella Damasus passed away. The actress today paid a tribute to her ex husband on her social page. Read her tribute;

Stella-and-Jaiye

Every morning I open my eyes from sleep, the first words that come to my lips are ‘Thank You Lord for the miracle of sleeping and waking up’. I am thankful to God for his grace, his favor, his blessings and also for the privilege he gave me to have had an amazing man in my life who was my friend and husband. JAIYE, today makes it 10 whole years that that you left us here to a better place. It’s been 10 long years without your words of wisdom, your gentle personality and your warm heart. You were a source of strength for me and everybody that came in contact with you.

Yes, you left us suddenly but the impact your short life had on this earth will stay with us forever. I miss you Jay but I know you’re in a better place. Thank you for showing me what true love is and for making me know how it feels to truly love and be loved. It is my prayer that people at some point in their lives get to experience someone as great as you. I’ve learnt to live life. Love life. I’ve learnt to appreciate every moment of it because sometimes those moments may be lost forever and never return.

I’ve learnt to say I’m sorry to those who I hurt because I may never get a chance to say it tomorrow. I’ve learnt to say I love you to those who I love because they may not be here tomorrow to hear it from me. I learnt to say goodbye to those who are in my life as barriers because they may be holding me back from extending love and gratitude to those who should get it. I have learnt to be me for me.

Thank you Jaiye because you brought that out in me. I am grateful for the life I shared with you. I am grateful for who I am now because Sharing a life with you made me a better person. I miss you and the girls miss you too. Continue to rest in peace Jaiyejeje Aboderin.

Happy new month

John10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Today, your door of favour shall be opened, in the name of Jesus.

Help from above shall over shadow you, in the name of Jesus.

Like that man in John9:9, your testimony shall surprise the whole world, in the name of Jesus.

December, shall remember you for good in the name of Jesus. December will not consume you rather, it shall made known your next level, in the name of Jesus.

Every ancient gates blocking your moving forward shall bow to the name of Jesus for you. It is well, in the name of Jesus. Good morning

The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, on Wednesday
declared that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu
Tambuwal, no longer occupies his seat after defecting from the
ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to All Progressives Congress,
APC.
The police boss made the blunt comments as he appeared before
the House committee investigating the invasion of the National
Assembly by police last Thursday.
The committee invited the IG to explain the barricade of National
Assembly which led to chaos as some lawmakers scaled the fence
to gain entrance.
At the meeting, Mr. Abba pointedly refused to address Mr.
Tambuwal as speaker, triggering angry responses from members of
the committee.
The IG referred to the speaker as "Alhaji Tambuwal".
When confronted by lawmakers, Mr. Abba said he would not
comment further on the case since it is before a court.
The hearing was adjourned abruptly as Mr. Abba stood his ground.
The police chief accused Mr. Tambuwal of leading a band of "thugs"
to invade the National Assembly and assault police officers on duty.
He said security was strengthened around the National Assembly on
Thursday to prevent likely invasion of the premises by political
thugs.
Mr. Abba said there was credible information that the National
Assembly was going to be penetrated.
"The police high command directed the Commissioner of Police,
FCT, to strengthen the security arrangement in the assembly, the
police headquarters and the INEC headquarters," he said.
"In the process of safeguarding the security of the National
Assembly on the 20th of November, we collaborated with the
National Assembly Sergeant-at-Arm according to laid down
procedures.
"Members were being asked to identify themselves before they
could be allowed into the premises.
"The invasion of the National Assembly by large number of
suspected thugs caused a reinforcement at the second gate.
"We saw how security at that gate was compromised and we are
investigating the issue of teargas thrown at people,'' Mr. Abba said.
The police chief said officers were "physically beaten, disobeyed and
many other things".
He told the lawmakers his decision to order a siege on the assembly
was in support of democracy.
"From the day I was appointed acting Inspector General of Police, in
my maiden speech I made a pledge that policing all over the world
has gone beyond the issue of arresting suspected criminals,
investigating and prosecuting offenders. Policing worldwide and
Nigeria inclusive, which I pledge to be part of, now include the
support of the development of democracy," he said.
Mr. Abba continued: "I want to state that that pledge was not just
for the words, I meant it. Since then all my effort has been in that
direction in addition to other responsibility on my shoulder.
"2015 elections are around the corner and political activities and
politicking has heightened. As a result of that, I discussed with my
colleagues and told them that we should make all efforts to make
our election credible and peaceful. In the last meeting we had in two
weeks ago, I told them to be focused on efforts that will enable the
police control the activities of political thugs and to mop up arms.
"I told them to do everything within the limit of the provision of the
law to ensure that people do not take laws into their hands, so that
we can have credible and safe conduct of the 2015 elections."
He said the invasion of the assembly was partly in response to an
earlier threat by the APC to cause mayhem in Abuja.
"On the 19th of November, members of a political party including
their leaders and a serving Governor conducted a rally at the Eagle
square. They proceeded in a procession to the headquarters of the
Nigeria Police and made uncomplimentary statements among which
was the fact that what they were doing that afternoon was just a tip
of the iceberg of what they will be doing in subsequent days," he
said.
"They promised to come back on the 20th to continue the
procession with the blockage of the police headquarters, and even
promising to extend to other areas including the National Assembly
and the headquarters of INEC.
"Bearing in mind what happened in the parliament in Burkina Faso
on 30th October 2014, security was strengthened and it included
that the operational procedures of the security of the National
Assembly, must be complied with. That is why the arrangement of
self-identification were made for members to identify themselves,
and that went around and some of the principal officers of the
National Assembly complied and that went on.
"Until when that was disrupted on the arrival of Alhaji Aminu
Tambuwal. With the disruption of the arrangement by quite a
number of suspected thugs, the second gate was not only closed
but reinforcement.
He said the teargas fired by police merely "exploded".
"And to answer to the teargas, yes. Unfortunately, the tear gas
exploded outside the gate and that is being investigated, the
circumstances is being investigated. We saw how security
arrangement at that gate was compromised and we saw how people
we suspect to be thugs crossed the fence and that resulted in the
unfortunate incident were tear gas exploded," the police chief said.

Unknown Gunmen killed Julius Berger worker , abducted one in ogun state

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Friday killed a German construction worker with Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, and abducted his colleague while on their way to Ogbere in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The victims were said to be on their way to their quarry and were without their usual escorts, when the incident happened.
It was learnt that the deceased German national, whose name had yet to be known, was a sub-contractor.
A source told our correspondent that the driver of the vehicle in which the Germans were travelling in, was trying to make a U-turn when they suddenly ran into the abductors, who fired bullets at their car.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the police were on the trail of the abductors.
He said, "The hoodlums accosted the expatriates on the way to their quarry. They hid in the bush and as soon as they sighted their vehicle coming, they opened fire on them.
"One of the expatriates was hit by the bullet, in the process, his colleague was also abducted. The one that was hit by the bullet was rushed to a hospital, where he later died."
The Head of the Communications Department, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Lena Jaber, confirmed the incident.
She said the company was working with the government to ensure the safe release of the expatriate.
She said, "I can confirm that several members of the company staff, along with the subcontractor, were attacked along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway; they were in Ogun State. Actually, they were in two cars, moving separately, without escorts. Subsequently, one expatriate was shot and he died, while the other was abducted.
"Other details regarding negotiations are actually under wraps now. Our priority is to work with the Nigerian authorities to make the release of the abducted expatriate possible. Therefore, we want to keep some confidential information to ourselves."

FG plans To ban okada !

FG to ban commercial motorcycles nationwide
The use of motorcycles as commercial means of transport in Nigeria, popularly known as 'Okada' or 'Achaba' may soon be banned throughout the country.
The proposal for the ban was made by the National Council on Transport after its annual conference in Enugu State and endorsed by the Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar.
A statement from the Federal Ministry of Transport on Saturday evening stated that the ban of commercial motorcycle was one of the measures proposed towards adequate provision of safety and secure transportation in Nigeria.
It said the recommendation was contained in a statement of the week long meeting which had in attendance all the state commissioners of transport, permanent secretaries, directors and officials in the federal and state ministries of transport across the country.
The council advised all states in the federation to henceforth discourage the use of commercial motorcycles as a means of public transportation.
"All states and the Federal Capital Territory have therefore been advised to establish a public transport system that ensure strict regulation of the operation of public passenger transportation system through a well-articulated management system for enhanced safety, security, effective and efficient service delivery," the statement said.
It added, "The states are to also develop master plans for the development of intelligent transport system to facilitate the development and management of their transport operations in line with emerging trends and global best practices."
The statement noted that the council also agreed that all commercial vehicles should be properly registered in each state while their enumeration should be carried out periodically to enhance safety and security
