*Solomon* would say, "Trust in the LORD, oh my soul, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path."

*Isaiah* would say, "Arise and shine for my GLORY has come." and "No weapon formed against me shall prosper."

*Jeremiah* would say, "The LORD has plans to prosper me and not to harm or fail me."

*Jabez* would say God that YOU may bless me and enlarge my territory."

*Shadrach*, Meshach and Abednego would say, "We will not bow down to any image but will serve the LORD."

*Ezekiel* would say, "Any dry bones in my life, Live again."

*Peter* would say, "I will cast my cares upon the LORD for He cares."

*Paul* would say, "The LORD will supply all my needs and I can do all things through Christ."

Beloved, choose your daily statement of Faith,  Meditate on it! Speak it! Claim it! And see God work wonders in all your endeavors. Amen!

Seize Every Moment

#copied#

SEIZE EVERY MOMENT

(For New Bride, Married Women and Single Ladies)

When I was newly married, still working in a Law Firm in Ikoyi at the time, I would wake up early to do my house chores, cook to take to the office.

On my return in the evening, I would stop at the market to buy some things, get back home to cooking and cleaning in preparation for the next day, talk on phone for hours counseling people, write, attend to cases in my facebook inbox, my family etc

On a typical Saturday, I would excitedly wake up to my study and writing, laundry, cleaning, cooking, market, choir rehearsal etc

I would rush my work with the intention of squeezing out at least one hour for my "time alone with God"

Unfortunately, it doesn't happen because after all the works, as I picked my Bible and sit on the bed; I just slept off

I would look back at my single life, how I used to have all the time to myself, I can worship and pray for hours and nobody would stop me, I would be with my Bible study and be engrossed in it for hours! But here am I, missing those times.

This continued for some weeks and I became a nagging wife.

Wisdom is the principal thing!

One day, I was in the car with my mentor and wife, he was talking excitedly about his experience with the Holy Spirit in his closet that morning. His wife asked him to share his experience with us.

Then I jumped in with my question; I asked the wife, "where were you when my daddy was enjoying the Holy Ghost?

"I was in the kitchen, to the bathroom, bathing my children and preparing them for school. Hmmmm I kept mute

Chai!

They both noticed I stomach my comment. So the wife asked me what the problem is

"Your husband was enjoying the Holy Ghost while you were busy with house chores and the kids"

Thank God for that moment in the car, It changed a whole lot in my thinking. Following that understanding I wrote a message in 2014 titled "Practising God's Presence"

Now to the New Bride, Singles and married women here,

Luke 10:38-42 (NLT)

Jesus Visits Martha and Mary
As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord's feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, "Lord, doesn't it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me."
But the Lord said to her, "My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her."

Looking at Jesus" response, obviously His major desire was to "spend time" with Mary and Martha. All the cooking, frying, home setting wasn't bad in itself but "placing priority" on the time with Christ

A woman is a cook, wash woman, wife, mother, daughter, lover, cleaner, home maker etc I celebrate all women! If you don't strike a balance in your life; your relationship with God will die off. Fulfilling this Home Ministry alone is ministry in itself.

In the process, just like Martha some women have lost their spiritual fervency after marriage.

Every woman must be a Martha and a Mary.
Some women are Mary(spiritual) and not (Martha) home maker.

Our spiritual life must not suffer because of home ministry. How do I strike a balance?

SEIZE THE MOMENT

Of course you must have your personal time alone with God where you study God's Word and fellowship with the Lord.

But being with the Lord is not until you have that free time away from home chores and commitments, you can engage the Lord every second of your day.

Practice singing songs while busy, praying in tongues as you work round the house, praying as you dress your children for school, play audio messages on your phone, etc
All these practices will not only keep your Spirit tuned with the Lord but help kill "nagging" smile

My kitchen is gradually becoming my war room, I pray while cooking, I even make decrees into my delicacies speaking in tongues. Laughs!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

That's my spiritual charm in the food. Winks. I hope my husband will not see this.

SEIZE every moment!

Talking to the Lord is not what we should do after we are less busy, as a matter of fact, there's no time a married woman is less busy; there is always something to be done.

You must maintain your relationship with your husband and your God.

A woman doesn't fulfil her calling as a wife with only the energy of the flesh, she needs her spiritual muscles to be a great help to her man

SEIZE every moment.

You have no excuse to become a spiritual dwarf because you are married.

Are there two Jesus

Are there two Jesus?

David your food is getting cold, Sarah called as her six years old son seemed to be glued to his Bible. She walked straight towards him and snatched the Bible from him angrily.
"I told you I am already late for work, moreover, what are you looking for?, for the past one week you seems to be inseparable from your Bible ", Sarah asked as she helped David to adjust his school uniform.

"Mom, I can't seem to find my answer , perhaps you may help me" David said.
"Okay Sweety but eat your food first and then you can ask your question in the car",she replied.
David was so excited, he was finally going to get an answer to the question that has been bothering him for long. Within a twinkle of an eye, he had finished up with his food. They entered into the car and as his mother drove on he asked "Mum, may I ask my question now? "
"Of course ",Sarah replied.
"Mum, are there two Jesus? "
"Hmn, what did you say?", Sarah asked to be sure she heard her son well.
"Mom, are there two Jesus? ",he repeated it
"Will you shut up, what sort of blasphemy is that, who has been teaching this heresy? ", Sarah asked angrily. David was now shaky "Our new teacher taught us that......... "
"Oh oh, your new teacher has been feeding you with such heresies, no problem I will go and see him before going to my office, better I go late than leave you like this" Sarah interrupted her son. When they got to the school, the morning devotion had already started. Sarah walked straight to the teacher not minding if she was going to disturb the other children.
"What have you been teaching my son?, if you aren't capable to be a teacher then resign, okay? ". Before the teacher could say anything, Sarah had slapped her, the proprietress' attention was called to this and they were all ordered into her office. Both parties narrated their own part of the story. The proprietress brought David closer to himself who was now shedding tears. She calmed him down and asked "why did you think there are two Jesus? "

Still crying he said "Our teacher told us that Jesus is our father and his children behave exactly like him. He said Jesus does not steal, lie, fight or stay away from church and that his children are the same ". David answered and sobbed.
"Okay, that's true but that is not enough reason for you to believe that there are two Jesus ",the proprietress said as she wiped David's tears. "Is there any other thing we need to know, don't be afraid, tell me what your teacher said, he won't flog you ?"
"My mum told me she is Jesus' daughter, she use to sing "I am a Jesus baby.... ",but mum still fights. I saw her take daddy's money last month and when daddy asked, she denied it. This morning, she even fought with daddy. So I thought probably Mummy's Jesus was different from my teacher's Jesus. That was why I was searching my Bible to see if I will find my mummy's Jesus.
By this time ,a mist of tears had gathered in Sarah's eyes, she was so ashamed, she could not look into her son's eyes........

Ten Popular Area In Lagos and the story behind the meaning of their Name

Checkout 10 Popular Area In Lagos & Their Original Meaning Behind Their Name: Lagos is a fascinating city.!

Most of the popular areas we pass through in Lagos every day have history behind their names. Here's the history behind some popular areas in Lagos.

1. Ojota
Ojota used to be a military settlement in the late 18th century and soldiers practised their shooting there. The area had several gun firing spots and became known as "Oju Ota" in Yoruba which means "Bullet spots".  It later metamorphosed into Ojota which it is called now.

2. Abule Egba
This area is on the outskirts of Lagos and got its name from the early settlers who were Egba people from Abeokuta. The area was first called "Abule awon egba"  in Yoruba, which means "Village of Egba people". It later became "Abule Egba".

3. Apongbon
Apongbon is one of Lagos' most popular markets, and it's also quite close to the popular Oke-Arin market. It got its name from the then acting governor of the Lagos colony, William McCoskry, who had a Red Beard. The Yorubas who couldn't pronounce the colonial governor's name decided to describe him by his red beard and started calling him "Oyinbo to pon ni agbon or Aponlagbon" meaning a red-bearded man. It later became Apongbon.

4. Magodo
Magodo is now a posh area, but in the past, it used to be sacred forest land. The residents had a lot of taboos and one of them was to avoid using mortars and pestles, "Ma gun odo"  which means "Don't pound the mortar". It later became 'Magodo

5. Epetedo
Epe is named after the early settlers who were Epe traders. The area became dominated by the Epes and they still trade there until today.

6. Ebute-Metta
Ebute-Metta is one of the earliest harbour docks where British ships berthed at. It was a hub for trade and commerce in colonial times. Ebute-Metta is a fusion of the words "Ebute" which means the seaport or riverbank in Yoruba, and "Metta" which means three. The three ports are Oyingbo, Iddo Island and Lagos Island, which were major trading centres by water then.

7. Broad Street
Broad street used to be one of the longest and widest streets in the city. It got its name from its broadness.

8. Agidingbi
The British Naval forces invaded Lagos in 1885 under the pretext of stopping slavery and human sacrifice. The noise their canon made was really loud, and the sound was heard round the streets of Lagos Island. The people described the sound as "A gi din gbinnn". Which means a loud groundbreaking noise. The name Agidingbi was borne out of this.

9. Victoria Island
Victoria Island was also a major hub for commerce and British ships berthed there often. It was named after Queen Victoria of England who was Queen from 1837-1901.

10. Ikeja
Ikeja, the capital of Lagos, is actually an abbreviation for "Ikorodu And Epe Joint Administration". It was coined by the colonial masters for ease of administration.

Prof. Is-haq Oloyede explains why JAMB examination will be conducted in May 2017

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) yesterday put to rest speculation on when it will conduct the 2017 University and Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

The board disclosed that the examination would now hold in May 2017. Speaking in an interview with The Guardian in his office, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede gave reasons for the shift in date from March when the Computer-Based Test (CBT) usually hold to May.

According to him: "Normally, we conduct our UTME examinations around March, but the result would be ready in about two or three days and we keep this. But when do we need the result, it is about July or August and that is why there is room for suspicion. If you go on the net, you will see people claiming that they can help people upgrade their results. The reason for this is that the results are left to lie fallow from March to July."

HABITS THAT SHOW IMPROPER UPBRINGING IN CHILDREN

Dear parents,
HABITS THAT SHOW IMPROPER UPBRINGING IN CHILDREN
Please, carefully look into the list below to see where you may want to make amends on yourself or the young ones you are caring for.
Children, if not properly groomed may never get to the top in life, even if the parents are at the top of their career.
Manners take you to where your education can't irrespective of your status, money or the "who you know" factor.
1) Going to your child's school dressed indecently? Think again.
2) Speaking rashly to your child's teacher.
3) Cursing, using foul words or swearing in front of your children.
4) Using makeup on children.
5) Dressing indecently for children (they loose the sense of their princesshood).
6) Putting earrings on your son's ears.
7) Your child hold the cup or glassware by the brim and you don't correct.
8) Your children don't greet and you just feel they will come around one day because they have a mood swing. ( You will be blamed for it)
9) Your children eat with their mouth open and you feel they will grow up some day.
10) Your children bring home something you did not buy for them and you say nothing. ( that is the beginning of stealing)
11) They talk back at you and you conclude it's okay since you are a 21st century mummy. ( You will hate yourself if they do that outside and they are disciplined )
12) They interrupt when you are speaking with another adult and you think they are bold and clever. (Its really bad manners)
13) They exercise authority over their nanny and domestic staff and you let them be. ( that is bad parenting)
14) They say things like "my driver is on his way..."
I am not an advocate that children should call your domestic staff aunty or brother, calling them by name when they are not young people is not poise either. The use of Miss, Mr or Mrs will look good on them.
15) Your children don't say- 'Thank you' when they have been helped or served something and you are cool with that. (Bad parenting)
16) When your children cannot stand children who are less privileged.
18) When they pick their nose with their hands.
19) When they don't wash their hands after visiting the washroom.
20) When your children take something from the fridge without taking permission. (Bad parenting)
21) When your children don't knock on closed doors.
22) When your children don't collect from your hands the stuff you brought in as you walk in through the door.
23) When your children request for a bribe to carry out their home chores or extra task. (That is disgraceful )
24) When your children act like their grand parents irritate them.
25) When your children have not learnt to get up from the chair for the elderly or visitors to sit.
26) When your child tells a lot of lies. (You will both cry in the future)
27) When your child asks "who is that?" at a knock on your door instead of "please, who is there."
28) When your child is always seated by your visitors when being served drinks etc.
29) When your children still point their fingers at other people.
30) When your children play and jump around when prayers are going on.(age 4 above).                                   Dont be a 21st Century  parent who cannot correct a child. Train your child in the way of the Lord so that when he grows up he will not depart frm it.   IT IS BETTER TO LET YOUR CHILDREN  CRY AT AN EARLY AGE  WHEN YOU CORRECT THEM, IF NOT YOU WILL BOTH CRY AT NIGHT WHEN THEY BRING DISGRACE TO THE FAMILY WITH BAD AND TERRIBLE BEHAVIOURS
Pls circulate to all parents and grandparents that are on your contact list to assure us all a better future. God bless you.

God bless you

A preacher was driving home one night with his wife and two daughters in the car. It was raining and dark and because of the intensity of the rain he could hardly see past his headlights. On the way he had to drive over a huge bridge. There were signs posted all along the bridge that said "DO NOT PICK UP HITCH-HIKERS." There was an institution for the criminally insane near the base of the bridge and sometimes people would escape from it and try to hitch a ride. On this particular night, as he turned his car on to the bridge, he had to drive exceptionally slow because he could hardly see the road. Somewhere near the top of the bridge a man suddenly appeared in the headlights. He was soaked, standing in the middle of the road with his shirt off frantically waving it over his head and screaming.
This preacher's wife began to say, "Oh please don't stop, try to drive around him!" But the man was unavoidable and there was nowhere for the car to go to miss him. So he had to stop the car and as soon as he did, the man slapped his hand down on the hood of the car and was screaming at the top of his lungs. The preacher looked over at his wife and said to lock the door after him and not to unlock it until he returned. His family was now crying and pleading with him not to get out of the car. He opened the door and stepped outside...He was immediately soaked from the rain. As he approached the front of the car to grab the man, all of a sudden he could make out what the man was screaming, "THE BRIDGE IS OUT! THE BRIDGE IS OUT! A BUS LOAD OF KIDS JUST WENT OVER!" As these words registered in the pastor's mind, he looked back in the car at his wife and two daughters. He wrapped his arm around the man and wept in gratitude. The preacher stood there with the man for the next half-hour in the middle of the road, waving his jacket above his head screaming."THE BRIDGE IS OUT! THE BRIDGE IS OUT!"
For a lost and a dying world, "THE BRIDGE IS OUT!" For a people heading to a Christless Eternity,"THE BRIDGE IS OUT!"
where are the men and the women who will stand in the middle of the road and forbid people to perish ?
HELL HAS OPENED IT'S MOUTH WIDE AND MANY ARE SPEEDING INTO IT. Where are those who will stand in the gap, on the streets, the highways and the byways to forbid multitudes with the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST from going to such a horrible place ?

You can succeed in life without defrauding anybody

1. How have you fared?

2. Were your days wasted or resourceful?

3. Did you achieve your January goal?

No matter your response to the above 3 questions,
Winston Churchill said:

*Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.*

To increase and double your achievements this February, please consider the following:

A. Find out what is working for you and keep doing it.

B. Find what is not working for you and change your strategy.

C. Never mistake activity for achievement. Invest your resources in productivity not activity.

D. Stop making excuses. Wake up and take charge!

E. Re-organize your life and stay focused. You have all it takes to be what you want to be.

Also remember:

A. The only time you fail is when you fall down and stay down.

B. It doesn't matter where you are coming from; all that matters is where you are going.

C. In your pursuit of success, don't compromise on your Integrity. Character is key.

D. No matter the pressure, don't compromise your values.

E. You can succeed without defrauding others, robbing others or pulling down others.
*Finally a lot is happening in Nigeria right now, don't get distracted, focus on your 2017 goals, take little steps to make your spiritual life better, save little money daily, read books, associate with people that are better than you, above all,
Dream Big!

An Exchanged Life.... Christ Paid It All

*An Exchanged Life*
. . . and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.—Galatians 2:20
The Christian life is an exchanged life. Jesus' life for your life. When Christ takes control, your life takes on dimensions you would never have known apart from Him. When you are weak, then Christ demonstrates His strength in your life (2 Cor. 12:9–10). When you face situations that are beyond your comprehension, you have only to ask, and the infinite wisdom of God is available to you (James 1:5). When you are faced with humanly impossible situations, God does the impossible (Luke 18:27). When you encounter people whom you find difficult to love, God expresses His unconditional love through you (1 John 4:7). When you are at a loss as to what you should pray for someone, the Spirit will guide you in your prayer life (Rom. 8:16). When Christ takes up residence in the life of a believer, "all the fullness of God" is available to that person (Eph. 3:19).
It is marvelously freeing to know that God controls your life and knows what it can become. Rather than constantly worrying about what you will face, your great challenge is to continually release every area of your life to God's control. The temptation will be to try to do by yourself what only God can do. Our assignment is to "abide in the vine" and to allow God to do in and through us what only He can do (John 15:5). Only God can be God. Allow Him to live out His divine life through you. He is the only One who can.

When will these killings of Nigerians in South Africa stop

When will our government wake up to their responsibilities and save our fellow Nigerian brothers living in South Africa.

When there is no infractural development at home that is why most Nigerians traveled abroad to look for greener pastures.

But to think of it, have you seen any South African guy in Nigeria or in Lagos jankara market trying to hustle with the locals. No.

Our government should do something to really make our home country home

Live and let live

Now this is not funny anymore. I was shocked to find out today that 30ml of raid insecticide sells for N800, last December it was 450. Seriously, I should find a way of living peaceably with these mosquitoes, we should be able to accommodate each other, enough of violence and bloodletting after all, live and let live.

Happy Birthday to Lolade

Long life and prosperity. May God Almighty prosper you and bless http://tinyurl.com/gwu5mex happy ๐ŸŽ‚ birthday to you

The origin, essence and spiritual implication of valentine day

THE ORIGIN, ESSENCE AND SPIRITUAL IMPLICATIONS OF VALENTINE DAY:*
During the third century, an oppressive Roman Emperor called Emperor Claudius II had made it a capital punishment (death) to worship and serve Christ.
He had decreed the Romans to serve and worship his gods, and deprived the young Roman soldiers of getting married.
But an elderly Christian had stood his ground for his faith and had insisted on serving Jesus Christ and preaching the love of God to the young soldiers.
This was considered treason against the government.
He was arrested, sentenced to death and jailed. In the last weeks of his life in the prison, the jailer (prison commander) who observed that he was very learned and possessed very good Christian character, brought his blind daughter to him to be giving her lessons.
He taught her about God and told her many Roman histories and stories from the Bible. He taught her the love of God. The blind girl got so used to the elderly Christian prisoner. On his last night he left a note for Julia, the blind girl, encouraging her to love God and serve Him. And in ending the note, he wrote: "From your Valentine".
His death sentence was carried out the next day, February 14, 270 A.D.
*The name of this martyr was Valentinus*, a man who died for standing for the Preaching of the Christ and teaching people about the love of God.
So, for his love for God, he was regarded as 'Saint'.
Archaeologists have unearthed a Roman catacomb; an ancient church dedicated to Saint Valentine. During 496 AD, the Pope marked February 14 as celebration in honor of his martyrdom.
*February 14, is known as Valentine Day. But the essence of Valentine Day historically was a celebration in honor of the martyrdom of a devoted preacher, Valentinus, who stood on his faith in Christ against the devilish idolatry decrees of a Godless Emperor.*
*He preached Christ to the Roman soldiers and spread the love for God and humanity when it was a crime to do so. The day he was martyred was declared "Valentine Day". February 14, 270 AD.*
However, the devil has rewritten history today. All over the world, the history has successfully been erased and rewritten the way the devil wanted. The reason for the DAY has been blotted out from people's memory and a minor aspect of the whole story had been blown beyond proportion. The little card note Valentinus had left behind for Julia, her young beloved convert, whom she taught, preached to and prayed for, had ended with: "From Your Valentine".
*On February 14, in the year 270.AD, somebody died for Christ and is now in Heaven, but on February 14, 2017, several people will die spiritual death.*
The Destinies of several young men and girls will be aborted that day, because the devil had changed the reason for the Valentine Day celebrations. He had rubbed off living and dying for Christ and replaced it with living and dying on the bed of immorality.
That day, many young girls and ladies will give their virginity away for a gift of phones, ipads, bags, clothes, and even valueless gifts as little as chocolate, sweet, fried chickens and plates of pepper-soup and salad.
By the evening of this year Feb 14, demons of fornication and adultery will invade our streets and storm our night clubs and hotels to take register of those who are dying soon of STDs, including new candidates who are going to contact HIV and AIDS.
On Feb 14 this year, forces of evil are coming down on adulterated Valentine Day to possess people with the spirit of Rape and drug abuse. Imagine the amount of pregnancy preventive drugs and materials that shall be sold. Harlots will sell that day. There will be Christian backsliders that day....BECAUSE SOME GLORIOUS DESTINIES WILL BE ABORTED ON VALENTINE DAY.
*The story of Reuben, Genesis 35:21-22a:*
21. Then Israel journeyed and pitched his tent beyond the tower of Eder.
22. And it happened, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine; and Israel heard about it.
A strange spirit came upon Reuben, the first born of Jacob, and he went and slept with his father's young wife. Israel heard about it and said nothing. Nothing was heard about it again for many years, and we never heard that Reuben asked for forgiveness or repented or became sober about it and the matter died just like that. Really?
So many events came over it, nobody mentioned it again. He went with the rest of Jacob's children to Egypt; he saw the glories of Egypt. He was welcomed into the palace of Joseph and ate with him in the royal palace. He grew and had many children and everything was going fine for him till the day their father would say the last prayers for them and give them his final decree.
At the point of death, whatever he said was final for life.
He gathered them together for the final blessing and began to bless them all. But he began with Reuben, the first son, who was to be the heir who should carry the highest blessings among the children.
The record was opened to his long forgotten atrocity. He thought it had been swept under the carpet. He thought he was smart and he had had a simple fun. But his father opened his mouth for his final blessing and said: Gen. 49:3-4 (NKJV)
3. "Reuben, you are my firstborn,
My might and the beginning of my strength,
The excellency of dignity and the excellency of power.
4. Unstable as water, you shall not excel,
Because you went up to your father's bed;
Then you defiled it—He went up to my couch.
Though he was the beginning of Jacob's strength, he was supposed to be an epitome of Excellency of dignity and power. He was to be naturally blessed and was born to be a man of natural dignity and power, but....HIS DESTINY WAS ABORTED the day he had "fun" with his father's young wife. So, his own verdict was: *"You shall not Excel"* from a man who was anointed to proclaim a final verdict on the Sons of Israel. Reuben was destined to be a royal dignified personality above his siblings, but for that single night of 'fun' with that woman.
Many people will have a lot of lustful funs on Feb 14, and wake up Feb 15 morning as normal, but the truth is: long after a very hot pressing iron had been disconnected from the power source; it would still be hot for a while, until it begins to grow cold. Some power cable would be disconnected from the power source of some people on Feb 14.
Some young men and women will place their entire life virtues and destinies in the hand of marine agents that night.
Feb 14 evening is a 'Night of Fun', when many men and ladies will slaughter their destinies on the bed of lustful pleasure. By Feb 15 morning it is done!
Destiny Auctioned to a young man or a lady whose future has been mortgaged to the devil.
If Joseph had had a fun with Potiphar's wife, he would never have got to the palace to see the type of Glory he saw. He escaped that trap which would have aborted his destiny on which so many lives in Egypt and Canaan land, including the lives of his generation unborn depended upon.
There is a great story in *Proverbs 7:6-27*. It is a sad story of a young man on his own "Valentine Night".
He had thought he wanted to have a fun that night, he had thought he wanted to enjoy himself, but crashed his future in a night of fun.
*Proverbs 7:21-23*
21. With her enticing speech she caused him to yield,
With her flattering lips she seduced him.
22. Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter,
Or as a fool to the correction of the stocks,
23. Till an arrow struck his liver.
As a bird hastens to the snare,
He did not know it would cost his life.
I beg every child of God reading this post to send it to their loved ones especially all those whom they know have not known the true meaning of Valentine Day so that their destinies could be preserved for their glorious future.
Dear brethren, Please let's post this write up to our young ones to guide them in escaping the devil's traps on Valentine's Day and pray that the power of God will prevail against the desires of the devil.
May The Lord bless us as we preach the true meaning of the DAY which the devil has bastardized. BEWARE! !!

Open Heaven 2017 Wednesday 15 February 2017:- Living within the divine will

Memorise:
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10

Read: Matthew 26:37-42 (KJV)
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Bible in one year:
John 14-15,
Isaiah 38:4-19,
Hymn: Sing hymn 7

MESSAGE:
Until you get to the point of conviction where you accept the fact that you can never have anything better than what God has for you, life will remain a struggle. There are many people struggling to find their place in life, but as a child of God you were not created to live by chance. You were designed by God to walk in His blueprint for your life, and so anything less than what God intends for you should be rejected. Living within the divine will means having an understanding of God's plan for you in every area of your life. The will of God is always higher and greater than the will of man. His thoughts are directed towards our peace and fulfilment in this world (Jeremiah 29:11). This is why it is necessary to discern and hear what God is saying about the present phase of your life. There are people who are in the wrong job. No matter how much they work, they can never be successful because they are struggling with what God has not wired them for. Some people are in the wrong location, while some others are in relationships that drive away the presence of God from them. Do you know that there are people you meet in life who negatively impact your destiny? There are even some people you meet, and after they are gone out of your life, you find yourself drained, because all they did was use you. God's will is to increase you and not to use you. However, you have to wait upon the Lord and never outrun Him because He is the one leading you.

Examples abound in Scripture of those who struggled with the will of God for their lives before they understood what God would have them do. Moses thought he was doing the right thing when he killed and Egyptian, since he was born for the purpose of delivering the children of Israel from the hands of their Egyptian oppressors (Exodus 2:11-12). However, he walked outside the will of God by taking action at the wrong time and also by using the wrong approach. Jacob was also aware of God's plan for him to be greater than his elder brother, but he devised a crooked method of obtaining the covenant blessing from his father. Consequently, he had no rest until he learnt to surrender to God. Have faith in God that you will become what He wants you to become; not by folding your hands and doing nothing, by being diligent in your walk of faith. What is not enough today will be more than enough tomorrow through God's help. Remember the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning (Job 42:12). Learn to wait. He who waits never loses, but he who is hasty never gains. Seek God's face, and ask Him for the needed grace to run the race. God places a high premium on his children who are ready to align their words, actions, thoughts and decisions with the standards of Heaven.

Prayer Point
Father, grant me grace to patiently wait and work towards actualising Your will for my life.

THEME: *PRACTICAL SALVATION*

MEMORISE:

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2nd Corinthians 5:17

READ: Luke 3:3-14 (KJV)

3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of                                                            God.

7 Then said he to the                                                                               multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath                                                                         warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

10 And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

12 Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?

13 And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.

14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

MESSAGE:

In today's Bible reading, we gain insight into what it means practically to be saved. To be saved means to repent from your dead works and to be alive unto Christ in righteousness. Practical salvation is making your ways right with God without any reservation. When you are genuinely saved, everyone around you will see it. It cannot be hidden because you will no longer be comfortable in the midst of your sinful former friends. Practical salvation is impacting the lives around you by demonstrating the love of Christ through giving. I always tell people that whatever you give away may leave your hands but it will never leave your life. There is no other way to show the world the true nature of Christ without identifying with the challenges of people. Jesus was compassionate towards all those He met who were in need. How can you claim to be a Christian when you live in affluence but do not bother about what happens to the man beside you?

"And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."
Ephesians 4:24

Practical salvation involves putting off our old Adamic nature and manifesting the divine nature of Christ. We receive this divine nature, referred to as the new man, through repentance from our old ways and having faith in Christ's work of salvation. The character of this new man says "Let him that stole steal no more" (Ephesians 4:28). It also uproots every root of bitterness, anger, wrath, envy, hatred and the likes out of your life. When you put on the new man, you will be ready to put right all that have gone wrong in your life, through the grace of the Almighty God. If something belonging to your organisation or the government has been taken by you without being given, practical salvation demands that you return it. If you have been working with a forged certificate and you now say you are born again, you have to let go of this pretence and amend your ways. Several years ago, before I met the Lord, I was a school teacher and I needed to take care of one of my visitors. This need made me take a bed from the school dormitory. However, after my visitor left, I still held on to the bed. Seven years after this happened, I gave my life to Christ and I noticed that this bed was still in my house. I lost my peace immediately because there was a new spirit in me. To practically demonstrate my salvation, I had to pay double for the bed because the Jesus living in me would not allow me return a used bed after seven years of holding unto it.

KEY POINT:

When you are saved, your neighbours will know.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:  John 12-13, Isaiah 37:28-38:3

AUTHOR : PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE

HYMN 9: ON THE HILL AWAY

1. On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shame;
and I love that old cross where the dearest and best
for a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain:
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown.

2. O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
has a wondrous attraction for me;
for the dear Lamb of God left his glory above
to bear it to dark Calvary. Refrain

3. In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
a wondrous beauty I see,
for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
to pardon and sanctify me. Refrain

4. To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
its shame and reproach gladly bear;
then he'll call me some day to my home far away,
where his glory forever I'll share. Refrain

TEN THINGS PASTORS WISH THEY KNEW BEFORE THEY BECAME PASTORS

TEN THINGS PASTORS WISH THEY KNEW BEFORE THEY BECAME PASTORS

What do you wish you had been told before you became a pastor?

1. I wish someone had taught me basic leadership skills. "I was well grounded in theology and Bible exegesis, but seminary did not prepare me for the real world of real people. It would have been great to have someone walk alongside me before my first church."

2.I needed to know a lot more about personal financial issues. "No one ever told me about minister's housing, social security, automobile reimbursement, and the difference between a package and a salary. I got burned in my first church."

3. I wish I had been given advice on how to deal with power groups and power people in the church. "I got it all wrong in my first two churches. I was fired outright from the first one and pressured out in the second one. Someone finally and courageously pointed out how I was messing things up almost from the moment I began in a new church. I am so thankful that I am in the ninth year of a happy pastorate in my third church."

4.Don't give up your time in prayer and the Word. "I really don't ever remember anyone pointing me in that direction. The busier I became at the church, the more I neglected my primary calling. It was a subtle process; I wish I had been forewarned."

5.I wish someone had told me I needed some business training. "I felt inadequate and embarrassed in the first budget meetings. And it really hit home when we looked at a building program that involved fund raising and debt. I had no clue what the bankers were saying."

6.Someone should have told me that there are mean people in the church. "Look, I was prepared to deal with critics. That's the reality of any leadership position. But I never expected a few of the members to be so mean and cruel. One church member wrote something really cruel on my Facebook wall. Both my wife and children cried when they read it."

7.Show me how to help my kids grow up like normal kids. "I really worry about the glass house syndrome with my wife and kids. I'm particularly worried that my children will see so much of the negative that they will grow up hating the church. I've seen it happen too many times."

8.I wish I had been told to continue to date my wife. "I was diligent in dating my wife before I became a pastor. I then got so busy helping others with their needs that I neglected her. I almost lost my marriage. She felt so alone as I tried to meet everyone's needs but hers."

9.Someone needed to tell me about the expectation of being omnipresent. "I had no idea that people would expect me to be at so many meetings, so many church socials, and so many sports and civic functions. It is impossible to meet all those expectations, so I left some folks disappointed or mad."

10.I really needed help knowing how to minister to dying people. "Some of those who have terminal illnesses have such a strong faith that they minister to me. But many of them are scared and have questions I never anticipated. I was totally unprepared for these pastoral care issues when I first became a pastor."
