πŸ‘‰πŸ˜Well it's my calling πŸ˜πŸ‘ˆ

I AM A TEACHER
I am a teacher not because I went to college
Not because I am taught how to teach
Not because I am paid salary
Not because I have to teach to live
Not because there are no 'better jobs'
Not because I'm compelled.
Not because I want to be called Sir/Master.
I AM A TEACHER because it is my CALLING.

Sometimes I look at my certificate, my school, my pupils as I compare it with my salary, I laugh
When I look at what I teach, how i teach it, I thank God for taking me through college.

But when I sit down and look at the past, how the end has been for some teachers as compared to other professionals, I feel sorry for the profession.

But when I remember that it is the TEACHER that produces all other professionals, I feel blessed.

I am SATISFIED when I see my students becoming useful to the society.

I conclude that teaching is not just my job,
It's my CALLING.
It's my PURPOSE.
I feel proud being a Teacher.
I LIVE to TEACH!!!
*Forward this to every teacher you know and make his/her day

Leadership lessons from the Eagles

😘😘*SEVEN LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE....*πŸŽ‰πŸ˜‚

1. *Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes.*
They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds.

*MEANING*; Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring you down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company.

2. *Eagles have an Accurate Vision.* They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.

*MEANING*; Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed.

3. *Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey.*

*MEANING*; Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past.

4. *Eagles Love the Storm.*
When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree.

*MEANING*; Face your challenges head on knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they relish them and use them profitably.

5. *When a Female Eagle Meets a Male Eagle* and they want to mate, she flies down to earth, picks a twig and flies back into the air with the male eagle in hot pursuit. Once she has reached a height high enough for her, she drops the twig and let it fall to the ground while she watches. The male eagle chases after the twig and catches it before it reached the ground, then bring it back to the female eagle. The female eagle grabs the twig and flies to a much higher altitude and drop the twig again for the male eagle to chase. This goes on for hours with the height increasing each time until the female eagle is assured that the male eagle has mastered the art of picking the twig which shows commitment. Then and only then will she allow him to mate with her.

*MEANING*; Whether in private life or business, one should test the commitment of the people intended for partnership.

6. *Eagles Prepare for Training;*
They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually flies/ when it becomes unbearable to stay in the nest./

*MEANING*; Leave your Comfort Zone, there is No Growth there.

7. *When the Eagle Grows Old,*
His feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before.

*MEANING*; We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of.

*YES, NEVER GIVE UP,*
*BE AN EAGLE, NEVER EVER GIVE UP !!!*

*DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

_DATE: SATURDAY JULY 29TH 2017_

*THEME: HELP FROM ABOVE*

*Memorise:*
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:2

*Bible Reading: Psalm 121: 1-4*
121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

121:2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

121:3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

*Message:*
The reason why many people pray without getting answers is because their prayers are actually directed to men instead of God. Today, many people seeking jobs, contracts, spouses and admission into academic institutions prefer to ask for help from those they believe can assist them instead of going to the true source of help: God. The truth about receiving help from man is that men are most unreliable, limited in resources and ability and can be swayed by situations and circumstances. Where do you channel your request to?

In 2 Kings 6:26, a woman in dire need cried to the King for help, and the King responded to her cry with these words:
"…If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?" 2 Kings 6:27

This king recognized that God is the true source of help we all need. No wonder David, in today's Bible reading, said that he would look up to the source of his help: God. Who is your helper? To whom do you turn or run for help in time of need? God is the true Helper because He is the All-Sufficient God. He is the creator and owner of the earth and everything in it (Psalm 24:1). He has all the ability, knowledge and power, and so He can do anything, answer any question and solve all problems. Ecclesiastes 5:8 says He is higher than everyone and everything, and so He is above all. Psalm 91:1 calls Him the Most High. He is also the most influential, because the mention of His Name compels everything and everyone else to bow to Him (Philippians 2:9-11). He is so powerful that with just a simple statement, the toughest of requests is granted (Psalm 33:8-9). His word is final on any issue; hence, you do not need to accept any negative verdict from any other source (Lamentations 3:37). He stands as the Universal Judge who can upturn any judgment as He pleases in favour of those He loves. It is a great privilege to have access to this God, table requests before Him and receive answers to our requests. If you find it difficult to make your requests known to God, it is obvious that you do not know Him, or you are proud. From now on, make it a habit to praise and worship Him and thereafter make your request known to the true Helper (Philippians 4:6). He will help you today.

*Action Point:*
Spend an hour thanking God for how He has helped you thus far, and then ask for His help on every difficult situation you are confronted with.

*BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:*

Ezekiel 16:59-17:10

*HYMN 4: THROUGH THE LOVE OF GOD OUR SAVIOUR*
1. Through the love of God, our Saviour,
All will be well;
Free and changeless is His favour,
All will be well;
Precious is the blood that healed us,
Perfect is the grace that sealed us,
Strong the hand stretched out to shield us,
All will be well.

2. Though we pass through tribulation,
All will be well;
Ours is such a full salvation,
All will be well.
Happy when in God confiding,
Fruitful if in Christ abiding,
Holy through the Spirit's guiding,
All will be well.

3. We expect a bright tomorrow;
All will be well;
Faith can sing through days of sorrow,
All will be well;
On our Father's love relying,
Jesus every need supplying
In our living, in our dying,
All will be well.

The plight of teachers in Nigeria

PRIVATE SCHOOL TEACHERS CRY OUT...

It was about 10am on a weekday and little Johnson (real name withheld) six, was still playing round his Ayobo neighbourhood in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. Some passersby, who knew his family, asked him why he was not at school. His short answer was the same: "My mummy did not give me #20."

They understood perfectly what he meant and many of them just like the priest and Levite in Jesus' illustration of the good Samaritan went their way. Like the Good Samaritan, a particular passerby volunteered the money to Johnson and sent him off to school. The #20 was not for sweet or biscuit. It represented Johnson's school fee for that day.

That lad is a pupil of a Nursery and Primary school, a one room plywood and zinc ramshackle, which the owner popularly called "Big Aunty," calls a school and where she lords over as proprietress.

Her enrollment figures 30 pupils, gathered from house-to-house in the neighbourhood over a period of three months. Her kind of school is referred to in Yoruba Language as Jelosimi, which connotes that the children are sent there "so that there will be peace at home." She offers them cash-and-carry kind of education, and each morning of the school day, she stands at the door of her school and the pupils have to produce their #20 before they are allowed into the classes.

For poor lads like Johnson, whose parents cannot afford the #20 always, schooling is reduced to two or three times a week.

The owner of the aforementioned school who says she taught in a nursery school for six years, does not seem to care about that. She said she had learnt her lesson, that if she should collect #2,000 or #3,000 from the pupils per term as school fees, at the end of the day, many parents will not pay and there is nothing she can do to them. If you try to make big issue, they will take their children to another school.

She says that throughout her stay at the school where she taught for six years, she never earned more than #8,000 per month- an amount she says was paid erratically by the proprietress who she alleges, prefers to keep the bulk of the money generated in the school to herself.

Now, she says she makes an average of #500 per day, which amounts to about #11,000 per day, for the 22 or 23 weekdays in a month. She agrees that though she is a bit better off, the amount has not rescued her from penury.

"We are four in my family and the money doesn't last me more than two weeks. We still depend almost entirely on my husband for everything in the family," she adds.

With a monthly income of #11,000, "Big Aunty" is indeed better off than several other teachers who teach in many of the private, nursery, primary and secondary schools that litter Lagos.

In such schools, penury is the name of the game and the teachers earn unbelievable poor salaries.

In Lagos, many private schools teachers are in a deeper quagmire- earning peanuts as salaries. Some of them share their experiences with me.

A female teacher in a Primary/Secondary School in Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos says, she teaches Primary Three pupils and earns #12,000 a month and that is because she has the National Certificate Examination (NCE). Those that do not have NCE earn between #7,000 and #8,000 a month. To some who have families, it is like a drop in the ocean. Some engage in petty trading at home to support their families.

Another female teacher in Iyana-Ipaja, Alimosho Local Government Area says she doesn't have NCE so, she earns #9,000 a month. Those who have NCE earn between #12,000 and #15,000 a month depending on years of experience in teaching. It is only the headmistress of the primary section that earns #35,000 a month and she has spent 10 years as a teacher.

Some of those who teach in the secondary section that have B.sc degrees earn between #20,000 and #25,000 a month per month, while the principal of the secondary section earns #40,000 a month and he has equally over 10 years experience as a teacher.

Another teacher who craves for anonymity and also declined to mention the name of the private secondary school where he teaches in Alagbado, an outskirts of Lagos says, "It is for lack of something else to do that I am still teaching in that school where they pay me #20,000 per month though I have my degree in Biology."

However, there are quite a few exceptions- schools where the teachers are well paid. I encountered public relation managers of some private schools in Ayobo, Iyana-Ipaja and Ikeja. They disclosed that they earn between #60,000 to over #80,000 per month as salaries.

One of the public relation managers says no teacher in his school earns less than #45,000 per month as basic salary not to talk of other incentives or allowances and that the principal of the school earns about #70,000 a month.

Such highbrows schools can be counted on the tips of a finger as they constitute less than five per cent of the total number of Government approved schools in Lagos.

For the large percentage of the impoverished teachers, it should be noted that the income the school generates is what determines how much is allocated as salary. Schools where school fees are low are likely to generate low income. The person whose school fee is #5,000 or less per term, you can't expect him to pay #20,000 or #30,000 as salary per month. Where he is going to get it from?

Again, teachers working in schools where peanuts are paid as salaries are not forced. That person collecting #5,000 or #7,000, is better off than sitting down at home. For the time being, that is the best he can get. The government cannot employ everybody.

Many of such schools where peanuts are paid are not members of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS). Even among schools that belong to NAPPS, they cannot legislate what they pay the teachers. This is because the schools have different facilities and infrastructure and are in different locations. It is just like telling landlords to regiment rent in Lagos State. As far as we are in a market economy, supply and demands dictates. If you and I leave the university today and you are opportune to get a job in Chevron for example and I get a job in the public service, we cannot earn the same thing even though we are both employed.

Again, do you even know whether these schools are breaking even? It costs so much to run a school. It is like a factory because water must run and you burn diesel for energy. Most schools are barely struggling to break even.

I sympathize with private school teachers who are earning peanuts as salaries. Unlike public school teachers that are members of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), the private schools teachers are not unionized, so who will fight for them? The owners of schools just do whatever they like with them and if they are not satisfied they can leave.

If they leave today, they are ready to replace them with fresh unemployed graduates, who they will even pay less and make him or her teach three or four subjects including those outside their area of competence.

I wish some nongovernmental organizations will look into their case and save them from greedy proprietors and proprietresses. They are wallowing in abject poverty.

Interview tips

INTERVIEW TIPS

It is that time of the year when teachers change jobs. We are looking for greener pastures, not a bad idea. Let's do it with tact.

I see posts on vacancies everywhere.
A school may have just five positions but have 100 applicants.
The applicants go through:
a. Written test
b. Micro teaching
c. Oral test

School owners will agree with me that paper is not cheap.
Why waste so much paper on 100 applicants?
Why spend time and energy marking 100 answer sheets?
Why spend so much on airtime calling applicants?

My suggestions:
Instead of :
• Written test
• Micro teaching
• Oral test

*You could do Micro teaching first- I observed that some teachers are very good at written test but can't breakdown concepts for students to comprehend.
*During micro teaching you can easy detect any flaw and avoid it.
*Would you rather prefer a teacher good at answering and setting questions but can't TEACH?
*Having done the first elimination, you can now test their communication skills.
*Finally, the written test can place(less paper).
*Every teacher should have a 'working' email address, rather than call the successful candidates to notify them via their emails.

I hope this helps.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ˆ Rapture πŸ‘‰πŸ‘

R A. P T U R E

🚩Rapture will take place any time from now. 🚩Everything hindering the rapture has been removed. 🚩Gospel has been preached almost everywhere. 🚩All the prophecies have been fulfilled. Angels physically seen and captured on camera @ Dansoman also gives a 'sign'. 🚩The devil is working very hard to occupy Christians with the things of this world so that the day will catch them unawares.🚏 Please be prepared. There is no more time, Use the advantage of this free sms to send this message to at least 10 people. Do not ignore. This is also a source of evangelism. Souls are dying. GOD bless you!πŸ“Let's Pray Hard: 🚩6 6 6 The Mark of The Beast Prophesy Finally Fulfilled… as Written By: Jonathan Annobil. 🚩The US Senate has passed the Obama Health Bill into law. 🚩The implementation would commence soon. 🚩This bill would require all Americans to be implanted with a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip in order to access medical care.🚩 The device will be implanted on the forehead or on the arm. 🚩This is to fulfill the prophesy in the Book of Revelation 13: 15-18 concerning the MARK OF THE BEAST. 🚩Are you still doubting the END TIME? 🚩Do U know that the special car which was made for Obama is known as the BEAST? 🚩Get READY. The rapture is near! Revelations 13 is being played out right before us. 🚩Many are still unaware. 🚏 Why is the chip being implanted exactly where the Bible says it would be? Why on the hand and forehead. Why not anywhere else? 🚏Why is it being connected to your bank account? 🚩Remember the Bible says you won't be able to buy or sell without the mark 6 6 6. 🚩And guess what! The chip is connected to your financial details. πŸ“What breaks my heart the most is that many people in the Church will not make it if JESUS comes now? πŸ“Many are unaware that the end is near. 🚩Don't tell me that it's advancement in technology or development. 🚩If any area of your life is not in sync with GOD's word, repent and be converted. 🚩If you miss heaven you can never miss hell….. think about it. 🚩Hell is not a pretty place. πŸ“The worst part is that it is for eternity… πŸ“He who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the church. 🚩Please rather than post and forward senseless messages. Send this one to everyone you know. Do the work of an Evangelist. PLEASE SHARE THIS MESSAGE WITH ALL YOUR CONTACTS. 🚩Have you ever wondered what should have happened if we treat the Holy Bible the way we treat our mobile phone? And we really can't live without it. Only 7% percent will re-send this message. Don't be of the 93% who will not share the message. πŸ“Satan said. Husband and wife

*Husband and Wife:*

I put her in the Toyota Camry car I was using then and off I drove to Shoprite. I did not even tell her we were going to Shoprite. When we got there, she exploded

"Do you have money? What are we doing here? I said, "just follow me and pick anything you want."
Right inside Shoprite, I picked cart and wheeled it behind her. "Pick anything you want baby."

See women o! Na so she dey pick, pick, pick. "The cart come full"

I picked the bill, almost N86,000. As we were going out of the mall, something struck her ..and she said, "Honey You did not buy yourself anything! she wondered"

"Ah, I have no cash left. Let us go home ..."

"No, I have some money she said. Let's go back and pick what you want. So we went back. My wife picked a bill of N42k for me alone.

Now, you know I never knew my wife had money on her? But she brought it out and spent on me because I had impressed her.
*My man, Impress your wife, she will spin surprises on you.*

Now look at this again: when I scrutinised all we bought with my N86k, hardly was there anything strictly for her. Almost everything we bought were things we used at home and for the children. But when it was her turn to buy for me, I bought things for MYSELF! Shaving cream, boxers, stockings, slippers, DVDs, singlets, my kind of wine, etc. Things me alone use!

*It taught me a great lesson: most women are good. Most women are not greedy. All they want is show them you love them, you will be surprise for life !*

Men, give your wives pocket money today. Cultivate the habit. Don't say sebi she is working.
And women, don't say how much are you giving me sef? Kneel down and say thank you.

✔ πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ’ͺ Very good

Why hide it when it is not necessary

Husband: Honey I will buy a new mattress on my way home. The one we are using is no longer comfortable.
Wife: That's my Love ! But wait o, where will you get the money ?
Husband: I heard Arakunrin will pay our arrears today.
Wife: I always know that man will perform. Please Darling, don't forget the wristwatch you promised me o.
Husband: With all pleasure My Love.

5 hours later, the man arrived home in his car. Pin... Pin... Pin he blared his horn. The woman ran out to meet her husband.

Wife: Honey welcome (collecting her husband's briefcase, leading him into their sitting room).
Husband: You are always wonderful.
Wife: Where is the mattress and my wristwatch ?
Husband: Which mattress ? Abeg gimme my food. I never see alert o, the thing na rumours o.

The woman broke down weeping profusely.

Wife: Honey please forgive me......huuu huuu .
Husband: (loosing his patience) Dear what's all these now, what happened ?
Wife: Honey please forgive me oooooo..... I I I I...
Husband: (perceiving some odour, and looking out of the window). What's smelling like this, where is this smoke coming from ?
Wife: (still weeping) Huuu, I have burnt our mattress, I thought you would buy a new one truly, you know it is no longer good.
Husband: (furious, with a changed countenance). What ! You did what ? You must be joking. "Ti mo ba wa e". You will go back to your father's house today if this is true. You burnt the 500,000 naira my contribution money I hid in the mattress for us to roof our house.
Wife: Yepa ! You mean you have such huge amount in this house and you didn't tell me ?
Husband: If I get you today, I will show you who I am. (With this, he ran to the backyard where the smoke was coming from. Seeing the ashes of the burnt mattress, he fainted.

Lesson 1: never hide anything from your wife, she's your better-half.
Lesson 2: never run faster than your husband, he's your head.
Lesson 3: don't rely on arrears to plan your home.
How are you all ?

Why are you comparing yourself with others

COMPARING YOURSELF WITH OTHERS MAKES YOU?

A guy met one of his school mates several years after school and he could not believe his eyes; his friend was driving one of the latest sleek Mercedes Benz cars. He went home feeling awful and very disappointed in himself. He thought he was a failure. What he didn't know was that his friend was a driver and had been sent on errand with his boss's car!

Rosemary nagged her husband always for not being romantic. She accused him for not getting down to open the car door for her as her friend Jane's husband did when he dropped her off at work. What Rosemary didn't know was that Jane's husband's car had a faulty door that could only be opened from the outside!

Sampson's wife went to visit one of her long time friends and was very troubled for seeing the 3 lovely kids of her friend playing around. Her problem was that she had only one child and have been struggling to conceive for the past five years. What she didn't know was that one of those kids who was the biological child of her friend had sickle cell and had just a year to live; the other two are adopted!
Life does not have a universal measuring tool; so create yours and use it.

Looking at people and comparing yourself with them will not make you better but bitter. If you know the sort of load the chameleon carries, you would'nt ask why it takes those gentle strides. So, enjoy what you have and be grateful for it..

Pass to everyone on ur list to learn from other mistake! Not all that glitters are gold, live and be happy with what you have, everyone is going through one thing or the other.

THEME: *LEGS ON VACATION?*

MEMORISE:

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
Acts 3:8

READ: Acts 3:1-9 (KJV)

3:1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3:3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

3:4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

3:7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

3:8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

3:9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

MESAGE:

"And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way."
Mark 10:52

From the above scripture, the way Bartimaeus responded after the Burden Bearer lifted the burden of blindness off his life is a lesson to us all. After the Burden Bearer has answered your call and lifted off your burden, certain follow-up steps are expected of you. Some people are receiving their miracle thank God for a minute and then bid Him farewell. This should not be so! Immediately after Bartimaeus received his sight, he became a follower of Jesus Christ. Know for sure that the devil will definitely contest every victory you secure over him. For failing to take the necessary follow-up steps required for you after each victory, the devil can reintroduce an entirely new burden into your life (Matthew 12:43-45). Post-victory follow-up action is as important as pre-victory perseverance.

After a burden is lifted off your shoulders, what should you do? You should praise God. For taking your burden away, praising God is the least you can do. Praise should flow naturally out of you as it did from the lame man in today's Bible reading. Immediately after his burden of stagnation was lifted, he got up, walking, leaping and praising God. For 40 years, he was placed in front of the temple gate, but he could not go in; but after he gained the ability to walk, he entered the temple, compelled a praise service to be held on his behalf, and on that day, many people learnt how to praise God through him. For 40 years, this man had observed how those parishioners came to the temple and would barely move their legs and bodies while praising God. He would have said to himself several times, "Oh God! I wish I had legs, I would have shown these people how to dance for you." Then that day, God granted his desire and strengthened his two legs, and boy, he really did dance! He single-handedly changed a regular service into a praise service. You who have always had the use of your two legs, when did you ever praise God by leaping? When you truly praise God, your legs cannot be motionless. When some people praise God, only their lips are moving; the rest of their bodies, especially their legs, go on vacation. How do you plan to praise God when He finally lifts that nagging burden off your neck? From now on, start praising Him that way, and you will have your miracle speedily.

KEY POINT:

Those who understand the efficacy of praise are never shy to praise God anyhow, anywhere and anytime.
