A gift of gold is expensive, a gift of money is well appreciated, but the gift of being alive is priceless. Only the living celebrate it. As the cloud stands without a pillar, the ocean moves without an engine, the rain falls without a pump, so will your source of blessing be a mystery to men. Have a good day and be a blessing. Good morning🤗 God bless you.🙂

READING: Revelation 12: 7-12

King James Version  12. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

TOPIC: OUR  WEAPON

Michael, the name of the Archangel in today's passage means "who is like God" (Jude v.9; Dan. 10: 13, 21; 12: 1). He is both an archangel (I Thess. 4: 16), and a warrior. Before Jesus came into this world, Satan controlled the world by the power of his deception. However, beginning with the ministry of Jesus, Jesus' word and works have cast Satan and his forces down from their control over all humanity.

Those who hear and believe the Gospel are not under the deceptive control of Satan anymore. The eternal plan of redemption was accomplished on the Cross and perfected in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. The result of God's salvation is glorious: Satan is banned from Heaven - will no longer accuse believers before God nor have power over them. Today, we have the weapons we can use to gain victory over Satan - the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony and loyalty to Christ even unto death. Only believe and you will be saved.

HYMN

Support me in the whelming flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;

4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,

Every Nigerian parents needs to read this. So share it and continue sharing it. Its very important. Quote me anywhere

It was a pool party with naked girls.

And they were there.

Men who have achieved.

Money, power and fame.

Men in their prime who tell time to hold still since they have refused to age and it grudgingly obeys in detente and in temporaneous.

They dress young, they dance young, they act young.

They are current on all fronts.

Most of them married with children but mentally and emotionally single.

At this party they threw in a high brow residence in an exclusive neighbourhood in Ikoyi there was an abundance of food, drinks, drugs and real youth.

The youth came exclusively from the girls that were in attendance.

Girls in their late teens and early twenties.

Well spoken and extensively travelled.

Daughters of the materially blessed.

All of them students.

All of them naked.

Some were in the swimming pool, some at the bar, some danced under the cabana, others were hobnobing with the swimming trunks clad men at various places in the specially lit pool area that stood under the starry night sky.

And I sat with one of them.

She was caramel smooth, finely contoured, delicately featured and doe like.

She was twenty going on twenty one.

And a sophomore at Babcock university.

To every question I asked, she took a drag from the reefer in her hand, blow out the smoke through her mouth and nostrils, took a sip from her glass of Hennessey and coke on ice before she responded.

Her voice was sweet.

And her smile was rapturous.

"I heard students need permission to leave your school. How could you get out this late and stay overnight?"

"We have our ways."

"We?"

"Yeah all of us."

"From Babcock?"

"Not all. Some from Covenant, Redeemers, Madonna, ABUAD, Pan African and stuff."

"No unilag or UI?"

"They ain't boujee."

"Boujee?"

"Yeah. They are crass. Men like you guys don't want to roll with local cats like those right?"

I looked at her silently as she took a drag from her reef.

The aroma assailed it. It was caustic yet not aggravating.

"What's that?"

"Comorado."

"What's that?"

She laughed.

"It's good stuff. Hits you slowly and then makes you soar like superman."

I looked around and saw the girls doing one thing or another in their nudity.

She was staring at me.

"Is this your first party?"

I nodded.

"No wonder you are asking all these hang questions."

"Why do you do this?"

"I'm young. I need to live life before it becomes too serious and I have to be all grown up."

"But why the drugs?"

"Because."

"Because what?"

"Because this is how we roll. Everyone has their poison. If you are not on reef, you do codeine or cocaine or heroin or speed or AZT or ecstasy or royfenol or fentanyl or meth or oxy or worst case you inhale glue and get your high."

I stared at her as she inhaled and exhaled languidly.

"Why the parties?"

"You get your hit for free here. You have fun. You make good money."

"But for you to attend those schools you must be rich."

"My parents are not me."

"But they give you money."

"They pay the tuition and all. Not like they can give me a million in cash."

"Do you get a million here?"

"Well two or three parties can make me that."

"Aren't you afraid of running into your Dad at places like this?"

"Naaaa... my dad is too square and busy but even if he is not then it is his problem after all he came here for what I came here for so he can't tell me nothing."

I fell silent and watched her inhale and exhale smoke.

"But you know, your folks put you in schools like that to protect you?"

"Too protect me?"

"Yes."

"They are too busy to even bother."

"No they are not."

"Yes they are. They think the school will be both my teachers and my parents."

"I think they are just worried about you getting corrupted."

"I was balling like this under their nose and they didn't even notice. Funny thing is that even the innocent Jane get influenced in school, so what was the use of all the headache of keeping us locked up in all these secondary schools that front as universities."

"They did it out of love and with the belief that those schools are way better than the public ones."

"Well they fucked up."

"Fucked up?"

"Is this an interview or what?"

"No I am just intrigued."

"And I am horny."

I fell silent.

She dragged, exhaled, took a drink from her glass, sucked on one of the ice cubes in her mouth and asked in a whisper.

"Are you going to do anything about it?"

-----------------------------

The best time to do core parenting is between ages 0-12. You simply cannot afford to be too busy at this stage. Schools, nannies, extra murals cannot replace core parenting at this point. If you are absent in your child's life at this stage, be sure someone else is shaping your child's worldview .

At 12 a child's curiosities are set. And they spend their teenage years exploring those curiosities and fantasies and experimenting with their identities.

If you attempt core parenting in teenage years, you will meet a brick wall and you might end up with a fractious relationship with your teen.

Your best mode as a parent of a teenager is to "befriend" them. At this stage you can't take anything for granted you will have to earn their trust. Seek to influence them not control at this point. They will resist control but will respond wonderfully to influence: yours or the streets.

Every Nigerian parents needs to read this. So share it and continue sharing it. Its very important.

stronger Many things on my mind since Facebook will not stop asking 'What's on your mind' Who am i influencing

Just here on my bed resting after many drips and injections.  Thankful to God I am getting better and stronger

Many things on my mind since Facebook will not stop asking 'What's on your mind'

Who am i influencing wi

th my lifestyle ?

I know I am of a positive influence to atleast a few people but I hope  God is proud of me

Many abnormal things in our world has become normal

Maybe I am one of the few who still believe in virginity for male and female before marriage

Who still believe it is just right and normal to be married and stay faithful

I am even sounding old school . Abi . Oluwa ooo

Have you noticed stripper club are more in town now

Our daughters have become object of use  by men we didn't mentor

The level of immorality is alarming

More people are unashamedly immoral feel okay

A teenagers recently told me her father is having sexual affair with her friend who is 15

More incest is covered up. How did We get here

More mothers committing abortion for their daughters

I have counsel more young girls who are high on contraceptive

We don't discuss virginity again as much as we recommend condoms to our teens.

Media, songs, videos that sell sex flood our sight and we consume with our kids

Young boys on hard drugs and feeling cool

Where are the father's?, who is modeling, who is teaching, who is correcting and guilding

9years old having sex, who thinks the beauty of a woman is her big breast and massive butt

More father's sleeping around with children while their children watch

I hope I am trying my best with how I am raising my boys sha. I need to do more My God

God have mercy on us. All our labour must not be in vain

What does the future hold for our children and generations unborn

Mothers dress like Harlot and father drunkard, abuses mother, clubs and sex young girls

Role models and people whose life can inspire and teach morals are few , let's increase the numbers

All of us minding our business and more liberal in our teaching against sin and waywardness

The world has because so polluted.  Technology doing good and bad

Adultery is as popular as marriage. Many think fidelity in marriage is never possible

Fear of God as of old, where is It??  We just fill up our religious centres weekly and little to show

Career moms and No stay at home Dads. We all must make money at whose expense. Hmmmm

Religious houses can't  say the whole truth for fear of losing members

We have teach mercy and Grace and people no longer see sin as a big deal.

Children are watching.  We are scripting them for the future. I hope we are good writers ?

Like my friend undiluted with zuriel Zuriel Oluwabukunola Olowe this is my own version  kemiundiluted

Our world need more role models,  people who will stand for righteousness, morals,  love, positive inspiration, who will rebuke in love, not condole a life of doom

Who are you influencing with your life, I hope it is positive. ?

Stay Connected to God

I saw this somewhere and it's worth sharing
When *God* created the *fish,* *HE* spoke to the *sea,* when *God* created *trees,* *HE* spoke to the *earth,* but when *God* created *man,* *HE* *spoke to Himself.*
Take a *fish* out of the *water, it will die* and when you take a *tree* off the *ground,* it will also *die*. Similarly, when *man* is *disconnected* from *God,* he *dies.*
*God* *is* our *natural environment.* We were created to *live in His presence.* *We must connect to Him because in Him is life.
*STAY CONNECTED TO GOD*

Always delay judgement..! Things may not be as they appear to be

A lovely little girl was holding two apples with both hands.

Her mum came in and softly asked her little daughter with a smile; my sweetie, could you give your mum one of your two apples?

The girl looked up at her mum for some seconds, then she suddenly took a quick bite on one apple, and then quickly on the other.

The mum felt the smile on her face freeze. She tried hard not to reveal her disappointment.

Then the little girl handed one of her bitten apples to her mum,and said: mummy, here you are. This is the sweeter one.

No matter who you are, how experienced you are, and how knowledgeable you think you are, always delay judgement.

Give others the privilege to explain themselves.

What you see may not be the reality. Never conclude for others.

Which is why we should never only focus on the surface and judge others without understanding them first.

Those who like to pay the bill, do so not because they are loaded but because they value friendship above money.

Those who take the initiative at work, do so not because they are stupid but because they understand the concept of responsibility.

Those who apologize first after a fight, do so not because they are wrong but because they value the people around them.

Those who are willing to help you, do so not because they owe you any thing but because they see you as a true friend.

Those who often text you, do so not because they have nothing better to do but because you are in their heart.

Those who take out time to chat with you, do not mean they are jobless or less busy, but they know the importance of keeping in touch.

One day, all of us will get  separated  from each other; we will miss our conversations of everything & nothing; the dreams that we had.

Days will pass by, months, years, until this contact becomes rare... One day our children will see our pictures and ask 'Who are these people?' And we will smile with invisible tears  because a heart is touched with a strong word and you will say: 'IT WAS THEM THAT I HAD THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE WITH'.

Send this to all your friends that you will never forget.

Put this on the whatsapp of those who made you smile in any type of way.

It might surprise you but look at how many will be sent back.

Thank you for making me smile for sometime in my life.

Be careful of who you reveal your banking details to...

Wow..... Its was all fun all the way

The importance of good diet and nutrition can never be over emphasized when it comes to early childhood learning.

This is what has necessitated the visit of Nestle Nigeria Limited to our school. They paid a courtesy call to the school in which during their visit they lectured our pupils on the need to always have a balanced and adequate diet.

Money Mistakes

Saw this piece, it was very inspiring and got me into deep thoughts.
 *Money Mistake 1:*
Never borrow money that accrues interest to start a business (except if you are paying for it through your salary); only borrow to grow your business. This is because business takes a long time to gain ground and begin making profit, yet most loans repayments have to be made within a month of taking the loan or even earlier. Therefore, never borrow money to start a business expecting that the business will generate income to pay back the borrowed money plus the interest.

*Money Mistake 2:*
Never spend money you haven't received. Don't even promise someone money based on a promise you have from someone else. If someone tells you: "Ezra, come to my office tomorrow at 9am and pick N3,000"don't go out to buy items on credit based on this promise, with the hope that you will pay off your creditor when the promised money comes; it may not come as promised and this will leave you in problems with your creditors.

*Money Mistakes 3:*
If you want to save, whenever you receive money, don't start spending hoping that you'll save what remains. Normally what remains is zero because as long as money to spend is available, the numerous things you can spend it on are also available. And things to spend on even incite their 'relatives' so that you spend even more than you had planned. When money to spend is not available, we naturally find a way of doing without it. That's why I've learnt to save in an INVESTMENT ACCOUNT. Once I send money there I assume I no longer have it. Before you spend any money, put your savings aside then spend what is left after saving.

*Money Mistake 4:*
When you get an opportunity to meet a very wealthy person, never ask for money. Ask for ideas on how to make money. They may even choose to give you money on their own after seeing that your ideas are great, but let getting money from them never be your objective.

*Money Mistake 5:*
Keeping your seed instead of planting it. Many people stop at saving. It's very, very difficult to save and have all you need to maintain your lifestyle especially after retirement. When you save, your savings are seed; plant it. When you just keep the seed (saving money) some seeds begin to die (eaten by inflation and the like). That's why I recommend that you read about the different types of investment vehicles you can use to grow your savings. I am not necessarily talking about putting the money in a business, because you can easily lose money in business. I am talking about putting it in an investment.

*Money Mistake 6:*
Never lend someone money you are not willing to lose. By the time you lend someone money, be contented in your heart that should the person fail to pay, you will not die. You should not even lose that person's friendship if they fail to repay the money you lent them. If you feel the person might fail to pay you and this will not affect your relationship with them, then lend them money. If their failure to pay would make you hate this person's entire clan, please advise the person to go to the bank.

*Money Mistake 7:*
Never append your signature to guarantee someone on a financial matter if you are not willing or able to pay the money on their behalf. Do I have to explain that one? No, it's self-explanatory.

*Money Mistake 8:*
Avoid keeping money you don't intend to use in the short-term within easy reach. For instance, don't walk with N10,000 in your pocket when all you plan to do in a day costs N2,000. Like I mentioned in Money Mistake 3, there are always expenses available to gobble any money that is within reach, so if you don't want to lose it, put it away in a safe place.

*Money Mistake 9:*
Avoid keeping money in inappropriate places e.g. in socks, under the pillow, in a pit, in the sitting room, in the bra, in a travel bag that you will place somewhere in a bus ... impulse buying is a devil that will keep you busy!

*Money Mistake 10:*
Spending money on an item that you can do without (at least for the time being). These days when I pick money from my pocket or wallet, before paying for something I ask myself: What would happen if I didn't buy this? If I find I can live with the consequences of not having that thing, I smile and walk away.

*Money Mistake 11:*
Paying an amount for something that's not the minimum you can get that same value for. In other words, if you are at Spar and you pay N15,000 for a shoe that you can get at N3,000 at Rumuokoro, that's a money mistake except for those who have achieved financial freedom.

*Money Mistake 12:*
Wanting to be the savior of the world by helping everyone in financial need. My sister, my brother, you are not Jesus. If you find it so hard to say no to a financial demand, you may think you are practising generosity when in actual sense you are committing (financial) suicide. We are not learning to be miserable here; we are learning to live within the boundaries of reality.

*Money Mistake 13:*
Consistently spending all you earn or more than you earn. It's like having a drum where you have an inlet that's smaller than the outlet. It will never get full. And should the inlet ever reduce significantly the drum will run dry. If you do it the other way round and the inlet is bigger, it will get full and even overflow. Hence, we have to always ensure we are widening the inlet while narrowing the outlet – all the time. Your side hustle comes in handy!

*Money Mistake 14:*
Thinking about short-term only and forgetting about long-term or thinking about the long-term and forgetting about the short-term. For instance, Lydia was told that there's money in land. She saved money over a long period of time and bought 30 acres of land. Now she has the land but she is always broke. She is always complaining. She's disgruntled and she doesn't seem to see herself earning from the land in the near future. Now, let's ask ourselves: Having 30 acres of land and no money to feed your family or take a child to hospital, is that wealth or poverty? I think Lydia only looked at long-term needs and forgot that she has short-term needs that require money. What of those who find they are one paycheck away from salary? Are they thinking about the long-term needs?

Let's take stock of our finances. How many mistakes are you guilty of?
Do you now feel better-equipped to do better with these tips? Enjoy your financial journey

You shall move from strength to strength from glory to glory. The Lord shall bombard you with both expected and unexpected income, to your utmost surprise, to the Glory of God, and to the shame of the devil and your enemies in Jesus Mighty name. Teaching the Basic concept of mathematics in primary school

We all know that both teachers and students do not love this subject for the most part, but have you ever considered this? Most of us do not mind teaching our 2 and 3 year olds' Mathematics, Numeracy or Number Work as we may prefer to call it. Why is this?

Also how come when it comes to Primary school Mathematics, both students and teachers start getting worried?

I hated Maths as a child. But I always got average marks, never really failed the subject. Even took Statistics in my first years at University, that is a story for another day though. I passed the Statistics Exam. Yet I did the subject under duress!
Learning and Teaching Montessori Maths and now Training Teachers to teach Montessori Mathematics has helped me gain some insights into why Mathematics is such a contentious subject traditionally. Here is what I have found:

1. When you teach Maths start with the concrete. This is a basic Montessori principle anyway.
2. Start with counting, understanding quantities, one-on-one correspondences.
3. Take it one little step at a time and make sure they are logical steps
4. Do not rush the child.
5. Better they understand what they know, than they know lots of things they don't understand
6. Memorization is good, but it must come from a place of understanding.

So let's take each point one at a time for better understanding:

1. Start with the concrete: Use things children can see, touch and understand as a starting point. Now I know they can see number symbols, but they cannot understand them at the beginning. So in teaching numbers, first start with things they can actually count and show them how to count them. So I would bring small cars, balls, pencils, sharpeners etc and count them first. Not numbers first.
2. Count: start with counting these concrete things first, not learning numbers abstractly. Yes children can memorize they have great capacity to soak it all in. But really what is the use of knowledge that is not based on understanding? Count first, quantities, they will learn and understand the numbers this way.
3. Logical steps: Start with counting 1 car, 2 cars and 3 cars, let them do this themselves as you have shown them then ask them "Show me 1 car, Give me 2 cars, Can I have 3 cars please?" If they can do this then you make sets of 1, 2,  3 cars and ask them how many there are pointing to each set. It is only when they can answer correctly that you know they have gotten it and then move on to 4, 5 and 6, then 7,8 and 9. If your 2 year old can count sets of objects from 1 to 9 you are doing great, you can then show them how we write the numbers. So they can recognise the numbers. Use the same method of introducing and asking them to show you then name the quantities of the objects. After this they can start matching the numbers with the sets of objects. Logical steps will always win. Remember understanding is key.
4. No Rushing: We are not in a race here, these are basic building blocks that will enable the child to do lots of wonderful number operations in future effortlessly. Let them soak in the information and understand, children need the time to assimilate. So once again do not rush.
5. Understanding is key: People say that Montessori is slow. To me this is very relative. Understanding is more important that lots of crammed information not understood. Children can memorize numbers from 1 to 500, but if they cannot pick out five pencils from a bunch of 12 then that knowledge is basically useless. Let us be wise as we teach our children about numbers. Understanding is key.
6. Memorization of mathematics facts is needed, but this must come later when there is a strong foundation of understanding. Memorization when there is understanding is less of a chore. Let us not rush through the process. Slow and steady wins the race.

At what age should a child own a phone

At What Age Should A Child Get Their First Phone?
techadvisor 09-16 23:01
Unlike driving a car, there's no law on when you can buy your child a phone. You'll be the one paying for the contract or pay-as-you-go SIM, so a child of any age can have a phone.

But the question for many parents is when is an appropriate time to hand them a phone?

We're primarily talking about smartphones of course, since they bring internet access - and its associated dangers - along with plain phone calls and text messages.

What are the risks?
1

We talk in depth about the dangers of the internet in our guide to keeping kids safe online, but with unfettered access to apps, there's a chance your child could be groomed or see inappropriate material.

Of course, you can mitigate some of the risks by ensuring that the child does not know the password for the app store on the phone. This way, they can't install apps without your knowledge, and must get your approval before installing any new ones.

You should research apps yourself to decide whether they're appropriate. You should also talk to the child and make it clear they must never give out personal details such as their name, address, school etc. unless you say it's ok.

So what age should I give my child a phone?
2

Ultimately, there is no ideal age at which you should give your kid a phone. The more important question is what they need a phone for and whether they're mature enough to use and look after a phone.

They may want one, but not necessarily need one.

It's not uncommon for children at primary school to have phones, from around age 6. But most parents wait until kids are around 11 or 12: the time they start secondary school.

Making their own way to and from schoolisn't the only reason to have a phone, of course. You might want to give your child their first phone when they are allowed to leave the house on their own (again, there is no age set in law for this), or if they attend out-of-school clubs or are part of a sports team.

Which type of phone is best?
3

A basic 'feature' phone will suffice for communication: you don't have to buy an iPhone just to be able to call or text.

There are advantages of a very cheap phone: it doesn't matter if it gets lost or broken. Plus, since there's no internet access, there's no chance of them using unsafe apps or browsing the web unsupervised.

There are other good reasons to go for a basic model: while any phone is a target for thieves, an expensive looking-smartphone in the hands of a child is easy pickings.

Conversely, a phone can also act as a deterrent – if a child is talking to you on their phone while they walk home, you'll know immediately if there's a problem. Plus, a phone can be used by the child or someone else in an emergency.

If you decide to go for a smartphone, make sure it has GPS. You can then use this along with a suitable app or setting on the phone as a means to find out exactly where they are at any time.

As we explain in our keeping kids safe online guide, it's crucial to set ground rules about phone and internet use, and also explain any monitoring, location or parental control software you might be using.

You'll find more buying advice along with recommendations of ten great handsets in our best phones for kids roundup.

Conformity with the ministry of Samuel

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2017
READING: 1 Samuel 3: 15-21

King James Version

15. And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision. Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I. And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee. And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good. And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD. And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

TOPIC: CONFIRMATION OF SAMUEL'S MINISTRY

Samuel began his ministry under Eli at the time when the Lord had rejected the ministry of Eli because of the corrupt practices of his children.  There was scarcity of the Word of God in Israel and Israel lacked spiritual direction (1 Sam.3:1). God abandoned the old Prophet – Eli and called Samuel into service and used him to deliver a message of judgement against Eli and his family.

Samuel did what God commanded him to do, and the Bible recorded that "The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground.  And all Israel….knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the Lord.  Then the Lord appeared again in Shiloh.  For the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord" (1 Samuel 3: 19-21).  The presence of the Lord, confirms the ministry of a man. The Lord restored His presence, revelation and His word again at Shiloh through Samuel - His approved servant. We should earnestly covet God's presence in our lives and ministries.

      Hymn
Verse 1
Come to me, LORD, when first I wake,
As the faint lights of morning break;
Bid purest thoughts within me rise,
Like crystal dew-drops to the skies.

Verse 2
Come to me in the sultry noon,
Or earth's low communings will soon
Of Thy dear Face, eclipse the light,
And change my fairest day to night.

Verse 3
Come to me in the evening shade,
And if my heart from Thee hath strayed,
Oh bring it back, and from afar
Smile on me like Thine evening star.

Verse 4
Come to me in the midnight hour,
When sleep witholds its balmy power;
Let my lone spirit find her rest,
Like John, upon my SAVIOUR's breast.

Verse 5
Come to me through life's varied way,
And when its pulses cease to play.
Then, SAVIOUR, bid me come to Thee,
That where Thou art, Thy child may be.

Memorise: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. Proverbs 24:14
Read: Haggai 1:12-15 (KJV)
1:12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the Lord.

1:13 Then spake Haggai the Lord's messenger in the Lord's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the Lord.

1:14 And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,

MESSAGE:
Some people attend big Christian events for the sake of tradition, while some others attend because certain people are coming there. A crowd will often gather whenever there is an assembly where Jesus is present. If you attend such gatherings because of the crowd – just to belong or to show that you are current – you may not receive your desired blessings. In Mark 5:24-34, a crowd gathered around Jesus Christ on His way to Jairus' house. For many of them, it was enough that they were in the crowd following Jesus, but right there in their midst, there was a woman who was not there because others were there; she was there because she so needed and desired to touch Jesus. She was determined in her heart that if only she could touch the hem of His clothes, she would receive her healing. She touched it and she was healed. That is what a motivated mindset can do. The Bible says she "came in the press behind". She did not mind if people trampled on her, and she did not mind the pushing and shoving of the crowd; her singular focus was that she just had to touch the hem of the Master's garment, no matter what it would take. To understand how motivated she was, you try getting to the front of a crowd from behind.

Moreover, another person who had a motivated mindset was Zerubbabel. Today's Bible reading shows that when you have a focused mindset like Zerubbabel did, it will stir you up to take action. A motivated mindset fills your heart with conviction that you are overdue for a breakthrough, thereby ushering you into your desired blessing. For instance, when the man who was paralysed from the neck downwards was brought to Jesus, it was not for flimsy reasons (Mark 2:1-12). His friends felt he was overdue for a breakthrough, and so on their arrival, when the door was blocked off and there was no feasible way in through the window, they created a way through the roof. When you believe you are already overdue for a breakthrough, you will be compelled to take violent steps towards attaining your expectation. You will not care about the crowd, traditions or the need to socialize. You will not care about who is first, second or next to be attended to on a queue. All that fills your mind is that you are the next beneficiary of God's mercy. Where do you stand now? Are you overdue for promotion, success, breakthrough, deliverance or prosperity? If you are, let your conviction on this drive you into your miracle. Such a belief has a way of motivating you to take actions that will trigger your blessing. It shall be well with you this season!
Key Point
While the expectations of the righteous are granted, those without expectations shall have nothing.

King James Version

1. Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

TOPIC:  MORE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BELIEVERS

Superiors usually give instructions to those under them. The aim of such instructions is to enable those under them to perform their work well and to free them from possible problems. In the last chapter of this epistle, Paul gave six important instructions to children of God. First he enjoins Christians to treat those who work under them with fairness and equity, remembering that God is the master over all men. He also emphasized the need to live a life of thanksgiving, with fervent prayers and watchfulness. Our prayers should not only focus on our needs but also for the extension of the Kingdom of God. We are also to pray for boldness for ministers and evangelists as they labour in God's vineyard. Paul also emphasized the need for wisdom in our daily lives as we relate with others especially non Christians, discipline in time management and discretion in speech.

These instruction shows that Christians are not free to live anyhow they please. We must be aware of our mission as Christ's ambassadors, tasked with the responsibility of representing God here on earth and extending His kingdom. Are you adhering to these biblical instructions?

Hymn
1 Forth in thy name, O Lord, I go,
my daily labour to pursue;
thee, only thee, resolved to know,
in all I think or speak or do.

2. The task thy wisdom hath assigned
O let me cheerfully fulfil;
in all my works thy presence find,
and prove thy good and perfect will.

3. Preserve me from my calling's snare,
and hide my simple heart above,
above the thorns of choking care,
the gilded baits of worldly love.

4. Thee may I set at my right hand,
whose eyes my inmost substance see,
and labour on at thy command,
and offer all my works to thee.

5. Give me to bear thy easy yoke,
and every moment watch and pray,
and still to things eternal look,
and hasten to thy glorious day;

6. For thee delightfully employ
whate'er thy bounteous grace hath given,
and run my course with even joy,
and closely walk with thee to heaven.
