THEME: THE MYSTERY OF REGENERATION TEXT: COLOSSIANS 2: 6 – 15

DAILY REFLECTION

THEME: THE MYSTERY OF REGENERATION
TEXT: COLOSSIANS 2: 6 – 15
MEMORY VERSE: COLOSSIANS 2:13 "And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses."

The last time I was in Lagos, I had a chance to visit my old residence in Ikoyi. I passed by the house, everything looked pretty much the same - the gate, the garage and the front door. However, things have changed. The house had been sold and the former residents were no longer there. Outside, it was the same house but not the inside. A new owner had moved in. When somebody gets saved, the house outside stays the same, but inside, the old man is gone and a new man comes in to live. That is what is called regeneration.

A song says, "Jesus on the inside working on the outside, oh what a joy in my heart!" When the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached, and you receive that Word by faith, that living Word is going to produce a new spiritual life in you. Though outside you may look the same, you will be a totally new person inside.

There are only two races on earth, the race of Adam and the race of Christ (1 Corinthians 15: 22). Those who are in Adam are dead even though they are living. If you are in Christ, God gives you a new DNA, a new life, a new attitude, a new way of viewing life. "And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses" (Col. 2:13). Also, you are born into a new country, a new kingdom, the kingdom of God, the country where God reigns.

HYMN: MHB 361 – WHERE SHALL MY WONDERING SOUL BEGIN?

PRAYER: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Amen.
