Types of Verbs

A verb is an action word or a doing word. It is used to tell us what action is done in a sentence.
Types of Verbs.

1. Action words : Most verbs are action words because they are used to tell us what action is done in a sentence.
Examples of such verbs are jump, dance, walk, sleep, fight, write,

2. Auxiliary or Helping Verbs : These verbs are used with other verbs. They help other verbs. Examples of such verbs are can, may, will, etc

3. Linking verbs : These verbs are used to say what things are. They are always used with verbs to say what things are. Examples of such verbs are become, be, is, am, are, were, etc.

It is important to note that most verbs that are used as action words may be transitive verbs (with direct objects) or intransitive (without object or direct object)

Evaluation :
