Great Body Improvement

Today marks 6 months without drinking a drop of coke, or any kinds of soda! 6 months without eating bread, cake or anything sweet.

The change in my body has been fantastic, I feel great, I lost weight and my way of thinking is very positive... I'm looking to keep this up and go for more. Because I choose to!... No acid drinks, no alcohol, eating healthy, having enough rest and above all, two hours of exercise every day!!!

I don't know who wrote this, but I was happy for them so I copied and pasted it.
You can too 😜😂🙈

The Problem with Nigerian Youth is unemployability and not unemployment

Dear Nigerian Youth:

The toughest challenge employers are facing right now is where to locate 'the right' employees. We've been trying to hire three new staff for over a year.
I've interviewed quite a ton of graduates of law, accounting and other social sciences. 99% of BSc Accounting holders are UNABLE to use Microsoft excel spreadsheets. The majority of law graduates could not write coherently, and have no legal research experience outside of their final year projects. One graduate of English/Literature has not read any book outside of the recommended texts in school. 99% of job seekers have no writing sample, no published product or past work that is independently verifiable. That means, Nigeria's biggest problem right now, isn't unemployment, but unemployability.

Sometimes, you meet a job seeker with a charming personality, and you try to stretch the rules a bit. You request for his/her Facebook profile to get a sense of his/her interests, passions and extracurricula engagements. You only find posts about sex, sex, sex, sex, boyfriends, girlfriends, crushes, and more sex. What a turn off! Well, I've got some news for you: You cannot sex your way to a prosperous future. You cannot Bleep your way to greatness. The CEOs of all Fortune500 companies have sex too. CEOs of the WB, IMF, UN, CBN, AfDB etc are all having sex too. The difference is that they spend their times productively, and regard sex as a purely private activity.

I just crossed the border control at Schipol Airport, self-service passport control machines have replaced hundreds of personnel that formerly handled that activity. I just stayed in multi-storey 5-star hotels where machines have replaced the need for human workforce. So, in the nearest future, if you have no talent, skill, or knowledge of comparable standard to these artificially-intelligent machines providing high-quality services, you'd be left behind. Far behind. Your prospects of breaking the shackles of poverty and joblessness will get thinner.

Please, invest in yourself. While waiting for that job, learn something new and hone your skills. Volunteer your services. Consider doing some unpaid work. Write more clearly. Read more. Reallocate the money you spend on expensive weaves and phones to prepare yourself for the future. That added value you bring can make you stand out from the crowd.

The Sunday interview on TVC with Pastor Kasali

Pastors should not live ostentatously..
If you have got it you should not boast and brag about it.....
Pastor Kasali

As the issue of prosperity, nobody celebrates the new soul that is converted but they lay emphasis on sow seed sow seed, are we doing business with God. Monitize miracle is not from God.
Pastor Kasali

About FRC Pastor Kasali said nothing is wrong with the code. Every church must audit their account. It guides the people in the corporate world and not the church alone.

As of PFM, how many members do we have. We need to self regulate or else the government will regulate us.

As for advice for the government, will I vote for Buhari, yes. Am I satisfied with this government, no. Is PDP government under Jonathan good for us, no.
Pastor Kasali.

Am more of Donald Trump rather than Hillary Clinton.

I think am a open book and all my staff know me. I don't like hypocrite. I can't stand them. I can't stand them

Psalms are inspired collections of selected literary passages of praise. Psalms offer us vistas of trust in our Almighty God. Saint Augustin called the Psalms the "language of devotion" where we learn to devote ourselves to the One who is Devoted to us. Always be thankful

*This touched me.*

*There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind.*

*She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her.*

*She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'*

*One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.*

*He asked her,' Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?'*

*The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.*

*Her boyfriend left her in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'*

*This is how the human brain often works when our status changes.*

*Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.*

*Life Is a Gift*

*Today before you say an unkind word -*

*Think of someone who can't speak.*

*Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.*

*Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to ALMIGHTY GOD for a companion.*

*Today before you complain about life -*

*Think of someone who died too young.*

*Before you complain about your children -*

*Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.*

*Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep -*

*Think of the people who are living in the streets.*

*Before whining about the distance you drive*

*Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.*

*And when you are tired and complain about your job -*

*Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.*

*But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -*

*Remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one MAKER.*

*And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down -*

*Put a smile on your face and thank GOD you're alive and still around.*

*And before you think of closing your Whatsapp messenger, Please think of sending this to as many people as you like...It might change someone's thinking towards Life.*
*Remain blessed.*

No matter how hard we tried, our age will increase, strength decrease and financial responsibilities will increase. So how do we cope

Always pay attention or else the result may be disgusting

First year University of Kenyatta medical students were attending their 1st Anatomy Class. They all gathered around the table and there was a real dead body on the table.
The Professor, Mwangi started the class by telling them two important qualities of a DOCTOR. He said, "The 1st is that never be DISGUSTED about anything in the body." For example, he inserted his FINGER in the dead body's ANUS & put the finger in his own mouth & TASTED it.
Then he told the students to do what he did. The students hesitated for several minutes, but eventually everyone inserted their fingers in the body's ANUS & tasted it. When everyone finished tasting their fingers, they were all frowning.
Then the professor looked at them & said: "The more important 2nd quality is "Observation". I inserted my MIDDLE finger but tasted the 2nd finger...Now learn to pay attention!!! Most of the students fainted!!

Lesson learnt: always learn to pay attention.

Again my best wishes for you in 2017 and please be very observant 😏😜😘

No hopeless situation

11 Good Morning My Friends,

Mind-Set #1: You can't think like a slave and live like a king. What do you see? Your mental picture determines your actual future; as you think so are you! Don't just pray through; think through; If you can think enough! What you have is enough! Wake up!

You need a mental revolution, a paradigm shift; for your character is a reflection of your thought. Your dignity is also a function of your diligence, so work hard and smart; you have what it takes! Find it within you! Apply yourself; kill that laziness! Sit up!.

I dare you today! Stop having a victim mentality; change your approach and your reproach will change! God never made you a failure! Be mentally awake, never, never, give up. The price of greatness is responsibility; make that decision today; you will succeed!

Listen, there are no hopeless situations; there are only people who take hopeless attitudes! Have a fulfilled day!

Possible Cause of Renal failure

Your kidney deserve the best. Although there are possible causes of Renal failure but the following cannot be totally eliminates
1. Delaying going to a toilet Keeping your urine in your bladder for
too long is a bad idea. A full bladder can cause bladder damage.
The urine that stays in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly.
Once the urine refluxes back to the ureter and kidneys, the toxic
substances can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract
infections, and then nephritis, and even uremia. When nature calls
– do it as soon as possible.

2. Eating too much salt,You should eat no more than 5.8 grams of
salt daily.

3. Eating too much meat. Too much protein in your diet is harmful
for your kidneys. Protein digestion produces ammonia – a toxin
that is very destructive to your kidneys. More meat equals more
kidney damage.

4. Drinking too much caffeine Caffeine is a component of many
sodas and soft drinks. It raises your blood pressure and your
kidneys start suffering.

5. Not drinking water. Our kidneys should be hydrated properly to
perform their functions well. If we don't drink enough, the toxins
can start accumulating in the blood, as there isn't enough fluid to
drain them through the kidneys. Drink more than 10 glasses of
water daily. There is an easy way to check if you are drinking
enough water: look at the colour of your urine; the lighter the
colour, the better.

6. Late treatment . Treat all your health problems properly and
have your health checked regularly. Let's help ourselves...God will
protect you and your family from every disease this year! Amen

Open Heavens 2017 Friday 27 January 2017:- pray without ceasing

And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. Luke 22:40

Read: Luke 18:1-8 (KJV)
1And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Bible in one year:
Luke 6,
Isaiah 24:1-20,
Hymn: Sing hymn 4

In 1st Thessalonians 5:17, the Holy Spirit says this to us "Pray with ceasing". This statement is not a piece of advice but rather a command. The reason why we should obey this command is revealed in the words for our Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples in Luke 22:40b

"Pray that ye enter not into temptation."

The disciples did not take this admonition seriously for obvious reasons of the sorrow that overwhelmed their hearts after their Master's valedictory speech. This is a lesson to us all that we should not allow circumstances weaken our prayer lives. The result of their prayerlessness was catastrophic. Most of them lacked the courage to stand firm when their Master was arrested. They would have obtained the needed courage in the place of prayer. They therefore could not resist the temptation of running away. Peter, the one who had appeared to be the boldest among them turned out to be bold only in the flesh; he ended up denying his master three times. He had no spiritual courage to follow through with his boast of readiness to die with the Master (Matthew 26:35). What a great lesson to us all! The arm of flesh will always fail (Jeremiah 17:5)

There are many lessons we can learn from the story of the widow in today's Bible text; first of which is that the judge intervened in her case not because he was interested in her. Rather, it was her relentless prayer that compelled him to act and avenge her of her enemies. Secondly, this woman did not change her prayer at any time. In other words, she was consistent in her prayer, and so there was no need for additional witnesses to be called in, or for more evidence to be presented. Many people gamble in their lives, not knowing exactly what they need. They are unstable like the waves of the sea, being driven by the wind. Concerning such people, Apostle James in James 1:7-8 writes:

"For let not that man think he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

Our Lord Jesus Christ through this story assures us that our heavenly Father, unlike the unjust judge, will answer us speedily, but on one condition: if we pray in faith and trust in His justice. Therefore, ask of the Father today in faith, and you will receive beyond your wildest imagination.

Prayer Point
Father, avenge me of every adversary of Your plan and purpose of my life this year.

Open Heavens Daily Devotional, written by Pastor E.A Adeboye,

Life Inspirations

I wonder why many people always give the front roll seat of the play of their life to people that will never appreciate them.

The piece below is very long but so encouraging. Very poweful, inspirational and timely. I doff my cap for the writer and pray that his/her pen will never run dry. God bless you all.

Learn to ignore and overlook many things if you truly want happiness in life because the easiest way to a miserable life is to think that everybody is talking about you.

Never allow anyone to steal your joy from you.

What people say behind your back is none of your business as long as you are true to yourself. Never worry yourself about that.

Sometimes minding your own business does not keep people out of your business.

No matter your situation in life people will always talk. You can never stop people from talking about you, what you can do is to stop giving them what to talk about.

There is a time limit for every rumor in life. Never allow freelance broadcasters put your life on hold. Do what makes you happy. Anyone who cannot feel your pain, has no right to judge you in life. Seventy percent of those who talk bad about you behind your back, wish to be like you.

When people can't be like you they try to bring you down and condemn what you have. Those without money will sarcastically say money is not everything in life. (Is poverty anything?)

Never allow anyone to put you in a position of depression and self pity in life. Those whose life has no joy will always find every means to remove happiness from other people's life.

If there is the GRACE of GOD in your life, then enemies are inevitable. If no one has ever gossiped or talked bad about you, it means nothing good has ever happened to you.

Never feel bad when old friends become new enemies. They are just tired of pretending to be friends.

Never allow the opinions of people who didn't see your tears stop your laughter in life. You don't owe anybody an explanation to be happy.

Never see yourself through the eyes of those who don't value you.
To be beautiful means to be yourself. To stand out is to be out-standing. You do not need to be accepted by others. You just need to accept yourself.

Never beg anyone to accept you for who you are. Anything you acquire through begging will require begging to maintain or retain.

Be humble but selective. Being selective doesn't mean you are arrogant or proud. It simply means you know your worth. If you are conscious of your personality avoid too much familiarity.

Sometimes when you treat people too much like celebrities, they end up treating you like an ordinary person. You are equally important.

Never downgrade yourself while trying to upgrade anybody in life. Anyone who sees you like an option doesn't deserve to be a priority in your life.

The dream of a fool is for everybody to become a bloody fool like himself. Avoid negative people if you have a dream. Those without mission will say your vision is just an illusion.

Negative minds will never give you a positive life. Anyone who is always reminding you about what is wrong with you has a personal problem which he/she wants to take out on you.

Most people spend half of their entire life analysing the faults in other people's life, when their own lives need urgent repairs.

Never worry yourself about enemies and friends, because everybody in your life will eventually fall into one of the two categories.

Some will hate you and some will love you. Loving you or hating you are both in your favour. When people love you, you live peacefully and happily in their hearts, and when people hate you, you become the landlord in their head living painfully in their brain everyday and giving them sleepless nights.

The best awaits you in 2017!

The Journey Is So Short

A young lady sat in public transport: an elderly grumpy lady came and sat by her as she bumped into her with her numerous bags, the other neighbor got upset, asking the young lady why she did not protest and insist on her rights: she responded with a smile: " It is not necessary to be rude or argue over something so insignificant! "
I ll alight at the next stop, our journey together is so short, replied the young Lady "

Here's a response which deserves to be written in Golden letters in our daily behaviours and everywhere:

*It is not necessary to argue over something so insignificant, our journey together is so short !*

This keeps touching my heart and sets me thinking.

If everyone would realize that our passage down here has such a short duration and; to darken it with quarrels, futile arguments, unforgiveness, ungratefulness and bad attitudes would be a waste of time and energy.

Did someone break ur heart?
Be calm, the journey is so short !!

Did someone betray, bully, cheat or humiliate you?
Be calm, forgive, the journey is so short !!

Whatever penalty anyone serves us, let's remember that the journey TOGETHER is so short...

Let us therefore be filled with Gratitude and Sweetness.

Sweetness is a virtue never likened to bad character nor cowardice, but better likened to greatness!

Our journey together down here is really short and cannot be reversed...
No one knows the duration of his/her journey !!

Even Methuselah, the longest lived man got to his bus stop and alighted from d bus

Two years ago, a well known Minister of God, Dr Myles Munroe and his wife Ruth Munroe, together with Pastor Richard Pinder, Pastors Lavard and Rudel Parks and their two children took off from Bahamas going for a crusade; none of them got to the crusade ground. They all got to their last bus stops and all alighted with a plane crash!

As we wake up to see each daylight, millions of people: young, old, mid-age somehow get to their respective bus stops and must alight.

We all pray to live long.
And I pray for you reading this post; that you shall live Long and fulfill God's purpose for you on earth in Jesus name, Amen
But REMEMBER, the journey is so short.

No one knows when they will get to their last bus stop where they will have to alight !!
Meditate on this my brethren.
The journey is so short, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, or 150 years all start with one day.
We surely know how many years we have spent, but do u know how many more you have to spend? 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 99 yr(s), months, weeks or days, hours, minutes or seconds.
The journey is so short.

*Therefore, cherish and hold on to Friends, Family and the People around you!
Be calm,
be respectful,
be kind, n be thankful.
Love God; hold no offence.!!
Be Forgiving !!
The journey is so short!

No matter what anyone has done to hurt you, always remember that: " it is so insignificant."
Be quick to forgive.
Hold no grudge; the journey is so short.

Never forget that however long we pray to live ;
The journey down here is so so short !!
Everyone will account one day therefore make each day count.

God bless us all!

With all my love

Congratulations to you on your birthday

Open Heaven Devotional Wednesday 25 January 2017:- Taming the cobra

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

Read: Luke 19:1-10 (KJV)
1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Bible in one year:
Luke 2-3,
Isaiah 22:5-25,
Hymn: Sing hymn 13

There are so many wonderful things to know about the person of God the Son. His uniqueness is summarised in Colossians 2:9:

"For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

He came to this world in the form of flesh to demonstrate the character of the 3 personalities found in the person of God. This means that if you want to know more about all the other persons of the Godhead, all you need to do is to take a close look at Jesus. He is the Great Physician who can heal all sicknesses and diseases. He is the One who can set the captives free and destroy all the works of the devil. Most importantly for us, He is the Saviour (Matthew 1:21). When He visited Zacchaeus, He declared to him that He had come to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10). His blood cleanses from all sins (1stJohn 1:7), and it is only through His Name that we can be saved (Acts 4:12)

Several years ago, I visited an African nation and my host began to tell me about a particular government minister of that nation who was a very terrible man. He had killed quite a number of people and was so vicious that he was nicknamed "the Cobra". When he said that, the Holy Spirit immediately told me to go and preach to him. I told my host, "I need to go and preach to the Cobra." He looked at me in disbelief and said, "Sir, it appears you do not understand what I have been saying." Then I replied, "If he is as bad as you say he is, then he needs salvation, and no other person can save him but Jesus." My host reluctantly agreed to take me to his house, but he told me that he would stay back in the car. "If I wait for one hour and you do not come out, I will drive off", he said. I agreed, and asked him to call the Cobra and inform him that a prophet is coming from Nigeria with a message for him. When I met the Cobra at his house, I said to him, "Sir, I have a message for you from the Lord." "What message?" He asked. "Your days are numbered, your judgment is at hand, you cup is about to overflow, but the Almighty God has sent me to tell you that despite all your atrocities, He still loves you." Within 15 minutes of talking, the Cobra was on his knees asking how he could be saved. Every "cobra" in your life shall be arrested today in Jesus' Name! However, one effective way of doing this is by introducing Jesus Christ the Saviour to your enemies. I know this is the last thing some people will want to do. If you lead your enemies to the Saviour, you will have rest because they will become your defence and supporters. Don't stop until all your enemies are saved.

 Action Point
If all your enemies are saved, you will experience progress without constraints. Pray for their salvation today.

Slow Dance

Slow Dance
This is a poem written by a teenager with cancer.
She wants to see how many
people get her poem.

It is quite a poem, please pass it on.
This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a
New York Hospital.
It was sent by a medical doctor Make sure to read what is in the closing statement AFTER THE POEM.

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask, "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed,
with the next hundred chores running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,'Hi'

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last..

When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

Dear All:
PLEASE pass this mail on to everyone you know -
even to those you don't know!
It is the request of a special girl, who will soon leave this world
due to cancer.

This young girl has 6 months left to live, and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a letter telling everyone to
live their life to the fullest, since she never will.
She'll never make it to prom, graduate from high school,
or get married and have a family of her own.

By you sending this to as many people as possible, you can give her and her family a
little hope, because with every name
that this is sent to, the American Cancer Society will donate 3 cents per name
to her treatment and recovery
plan. One guy sent this to 500 people! So I know that we can at least send it to 5 or 6.

It's not even your money, just your time! Pls read n forward ... !!

Your future is beautiful, brighter and full of hope

Michael Jordan was born in 1963, in the slums of Brooklyn, New York.

He had four siblings and his father's earnings were not sufficient to provide for the whole family.

He grew up in a poor neighbourhood. Exposed to mindless violence and heavy discrimination in the slums, he saw for himself only a hopeless future.

His father saw in Michael, a lost soul and decided to do something.

He gave Michael, who was 13 years old, a piece of used clothing and asked: "What do you think the value of this outfit would be?"

Jordan replied,"Maybe one dollar."

His father asked, "Can you sell it for two dollars? If you can sell it, it would mean that you are a big help to your family."

Jordan nodded his head, "I'll try, but no guarantee that I'll be successful."

Jordan carefully washed the cloth clean. Because they didn't have an iron, to smoothen the cloth, he levelled it with a clothes brush on a flat board, then kept it in the sun to dry. The next day, he brought the clothes to a crowded underground station. After offering it for more than six hours. Jordan finally managed to sell it for $2. He took the two dollar bill and ran home.

After that, everyday he looked for used clothing, washed and ironed it, and sold it in the crowd.

More than ten days later, his father again gave him a piece of used clothing, "Can you think of a way you can sell this for 20 bucks?"

Aghast, Jordan said, "How is it possible? This outfit can only fetch two dollars at the most."

His father replied, "Why don't you try it first? There might be a way."

After breaking his head for a few hours, finally, Jordan got an idea.

He asked for cousin's helpto paint a picture of Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse on the garment. Then he tried to sell it in the school where the children of the rich study.

Soon a housekeeper, who was there to pick his master, bought that outfit for his master. The master was a little boy of only 10 years. He loved it so much and he gave a five dollar tip. 25 dollars was a huge amount for Jordan, the equivalent of a month's salary of his father.

When he got home, his father gave him yet another piece of used clothing, "Are you able to resell it at a price of 200 dollars?" Jordan's eyes lit up.

This time, Jordan accepted the clothes without the slightest doubt. Two months later a popular movie actress from the movie "Charlie's Angels", Farah Fawcett came to New York for her Movie promos. After the press conference, Jordan made his way through the security forces to reach the side of Farah Fawcett and requested her autograph on the piece of clothing. When Fawcett saw this innocent child asking for her autograph, she gladly signed it.

Jordan was shouting very excitedly, "This is a jersey signed by Miss Farah Fawcett, the selling price is 200 dollars!" He auctioned off the clothes, to a businessman for a price of 1,200 dollars!

Upon returning home, his father broke into TEARS and said, "I am amazed that you did it My child! You're really great! "

That night, Jordan slept alongside his father. His father said, "Son, in your experience selling these three pieces of clothing, what did you learn about success?"

Jordan replied, "Where there's a will, there's a way."

His father nodded his head, then shook his head, "What you say is not entirely wrong! But that was not my intention. I just wanted to show you that a piece of used clothing which is worth only a dollar can also be increased in value, Then how about us - living & thinking humans? We may be darker and poorer, but what if we CAN increase our VALUE."

This thought enlightened young Jordan. Even a piece of used clothing could be made dignified, then why not me? There is absolutely no reason to underestimate myself.

From then on, Michael Jordan felt that his future would be beautiful and full of hope.

He went on to become the greatest basketball player of all times.

How can I increase my own value? I am finding it a very interesting thought. I am sure, you too, will.

No Breaking Point!

Daily Manna:

No Breaking Point!

TEXT: JOB 27:1-10
Key verse:
"My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live" (Job 27:6).

One means by which the enemy tries to get a captive or a prisoner of war to reveal a secret or recount his stand is by subjecting him to intense suffering and torture. It is believed that everyone has a breaking point (the extent or limit to which he can bear or withstand pain before eventually caving in). This method has on several occasions been adopted by persecutors to get Christians to deny their faith. The form or nature of the torture could either be physical or psychological. Often, only very few are able to withstand such ordeal without breaking down.

This is the same method employed by Satan to break Job. But neither the physical torture coming from Satan nor the emotional and psychological torture from his friends and closet companion (his wife) would break him. In our text today, we read of his very strong resolve to hold on to his integrity and righteousness in spite of his sufferings. What a challenge to every one of us!

Unfortunately, some Christians do not have this strong resolve and determination of Job. Many easily give up and are not able to stand it when they face a little illness, financial lack or difficulty or when there is a delay in getting their expectations met like getting a life partner, having children, securing employment or promotion in the place of work.

How is it with you? We must understand that while in this world, the devil will not give up his attempt to get us to recount our faith and deny the Lord. He will employ every means to do this. There may be physical sufferings in form of pains, sicknesses and at times, physical attacks and tortures or psychological and emotional traumas in forms of wants, lacks, denials of rights and privileges, rejections, etc. Whatever it may be, we must brace-up ourselves and resolve strongly like Job that we will not be broken. And like the Lord eventually turned the captivity of Job to the shame of the devil, He will turn our own captivity as we remain unbroken by suffering.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Great men are made strong by suffering.

The Bible IN ONE YEAR: ACTS 22 - 23

I received this from a friend and I feel led to share it, thought its a bit long. TO RICH NIGERIAN FATHERS: LESSONS FROM A NIGERIAN MULTI MILLIONAIRE

The former chairman of Nigerian brewery PLC, Felix Ohiwerei shared a story with a group of us that was a warning to career driven men.

He said when he was still a manager, he was very active and rarely at home. He was making good money and providing for all his children's need.

One morning, as he was rushing off as usual, his little son was walking out of the room. He wanted to give the boy a hug before rushing out and the little boy ran away from him and clung to his sister.

The little girl made a statement that shocked him to the bone she said "daddy junior does not follow strangers. May be if you stay around more, he will know you and not think you are a stranger. Then, he will start to let you carry him".

He said his briefcase fell out of his hand. He called all his people and cancelled his appointment for that day. From that day he was home before seven pm, he made sure he attended all his children's school program.

He told of one of his friends whose was now a retired multimillionaire but whose children don't say more than how are you to. They will spend hours with their mother gisting. One day he asked his son why he rarely talked to him and the son told him that he really did not know him because he was not there when he was growing up.

I had promised myself that I was going to be a friend, a confidant to my children before being called their father. I attend the events they have at school. Last week Thursday was my children open day at school when parents come to check their children's work at school. I don't think we were up to four fathers that came. Mostly mothers came.

My son was so excited that his teacher said that day was so special to him.

I how built such a strong bond with my children that I must sneak out of the house any time I want to go out and they are around. Mensa Otabils once asked fathers to think of what they want their children to say about them twenty years from now and start now to lay the foundation.

Thirty years from now God willing, I am very sure I will have great gist to share with my children. I am very sure that they will call me at least twice a week. I am sure they will not see me as a stranger.

Children will forget the money you spent on them but will never forget the memories you built with them. I am deliberately building that memory and so should every man. I am talking more about men because women find it very ready to build the memory.

Twenty years from now, it is the current memories that you will relive so you better create great ones. Be there at the little but important moments of their lives.

Help a father by sharing this post.

Hope this makes some fathers decide to be
