Parts of speech

A speech is a group of words that are joined together to for a sentence. Those words that are joined together are individually refer to as parts of speech 

    Noun : A noun is a name of any person animal place or things eg Bolaji, Bodija, Bat, Buffalo, battery, basket 

    Pronoun : A pronoun is a word that is used instead of a noun. Examples of pronouns are he, she, it, we, they, them, mine, yours, this, that, these, etc 

    Adjective : An adjective is used to modify, qualify or describe Nouns or pronouns. Examples of adjectives are big, small, Nice, wicked white, nine etc 

     Verb : A verb is an action word or a doing word. It is used to show what action is done in a sentence. Although not all verbs are actions words. Some are used to show what things are or situation of things. Examples of verbs are come, go, jump, write, dance, is, was, were etc

     Adverb: An adverb is a word that is used to modify or qualify verbs. They are used to show how things are done. We. Have Adverbs of manner, frequency place, eg slowly  nicely, majestically, yesterday often, always, there, here, 

    Preposition : A preposition is used to show the relationship that exist between two words or things 
Examples are on to with for against 

     Conjunction : It is a joining word. It is used to join words phrases or sentences together eg and but with Although because if etc

     Interjection : it is used to exprès sudden feeling or expression eg ha ! Oh ! Hurray !
